My wife and I recently got married at this venue. So the day of we got there earlier for pictures and whatnot, all was going well until the power went out. Apparently the power goes out in the area sometimes because of all the ranchers/farmers in the area.
First off, why do you not have a backup generator. These venues definitely aren’t cheap, so how come a place of this standard doesn’t have any sort of failsafe? The power was out for almost 2 hours leading up to the ceremony, which as you can imagine, led to a lot of stress. No one came to talk to me, and explain it to me. Luckily one of my groomsmen was able to corner somebody and demand some answers. Their solution would have been to let us have the ceremony, but then they would have asked us to leave. Luckily for both parties, the lights came back on 30 minutes before the ceremony. I’m not quite sure who was more relieved, them or us. No apologies, not a word. Business as usual.
While it was a road bump in what turned out to be beautiful day with the love of my life, the rest of the day went off without anything of note. We celebrated with our friends and family, cleaned up after ourselves very well and were out of there 30 minutes early. We never got any word from the venue that they had to replace anything or that we left a mess. No contact whatsoever.
Now it’s way past the 30 days that’s in the contract that it takes to get the deposit back. We have not received our money back or any sort of invoice that we would have been charged with. We have been attempting to get ahold of someone for past week. They will not return any phone calls or emails communicating when or why.
I would be cautious with this venue. Super...
Read moreThe venue is beautiful. It’s a big place and roomy. However, the owner/ coordinator was not easy to deal with. One of the reasons we chose this place was that we could bring in our own food. On the contract it said that the person needed to be licensed and insured. However, She would not accept an out of state license and insurance. The brides dad is a chef with his own restaurant. There was nothing stated in the contract regarding this. After she told us this, we wanted to set up an in person meeting with her, but she stated she didn’t have time for that. Of course we were under the 60 day mark to cancel otherwise we would’ve. I would not recommend based on how we were treated by the owner. The staff that came on the wedding day were very nice and helpful. This is solely based on the terrible customer service of the owner. Please read all the fine print!! Once she has your money she is not the...
Read moreI fell in love with the Meadow Barn a few years ago while visiting the pumpkin patch at the Country Orchard, so I immediately knew I’d want to get married at the barn when the time came. For the past year, my husband and I spent so much time planning our July wedding. Katie with Meadow Barn communicated so well and answered any questions we had. She offered open houses as well, which was so helpful in our planning! Come wedding day, everything was perfect. The staff present were so organized and helpful throughout the day. The barn itself was breathtaking and the animals (alpacas and piggies) made it that much better. Everyone, child and adult alike, had a blast! Katie also helped us get acquainted with our DJ service and our caterer. We are so grateful for our experience and would recommend this...
