Edit 7/20/22: I came back to see if any changes had been made after their response to my initial review, and how they still have insurance coverage is beyond me -- with two referees watching players live-fire their weapons within the safe area, when nearly no one has eye protection on. Referees have a duty to keep new players safe. I will never be returning, and cannot in good conscience recommend Modern Mission's airsoft events to anybody -- I don't want to put my friends in danger. You only get one set of eyeballs.
Original review: The referee who chronographed my gun handed it back to me muzzle-first, pointed at my face, with a magazine still inserted. This was in a safe-zone where no one was wearing eye protection, including myself. The explanation of the ruleset was extremely barebones and excluded very important caveats, (such as what to do when two people safety-kill each other at roughly the same time), and the refereeing itself was extremely hands-off, frequently letting young players enter the field without their eye protection. This was extremely problematic considering almost everyone there had NEVER played airsoft before. The waist-belt system of team identification is extremely flawed compared to the standard armband/headband system. Team identification was extremely difficult even at moderate distances, and it pretty much just turned into "shoot at whoever shoots at you."
$15 for four 15-minute games is less than ideal, but still acceptable in my opinion. Better value can be found. Overall, no one got hurt, and we all had a fun time. Room for...
Read moreWe had 2 kids ages 12 & 13 participate in the indoor laser tag that runs for 1 hour with multiple different plays.
They were SO excited start to finish and all they talked about the rest of the evening.
guns felt heavy and real (they had sore arms afterwards but loved it!)
authentic sounds and louder than they ever expected as they were much more realistic than any laser tag place they’ve ever gone to before (they’ve played in Colorado)
very large play area and well designed and set up.
staff are present at all times
cameras available for staff & parents/guests
lookout observation room on 2nd floor is available for parents or relatives not participating.
very professional staff, kind and well organized
they have airsoft guns and supplies available for sale at discounted rates
only downside is we would have LOVED to come back to do airsoft or outdoor laser tag etc but this location is closed during the week unless private party.
airsoft is usually booked up 1-2 weeks in advance. We didn’t know this and since we traveled through town for limited time, we are unable to prebook for airsoft before we check out and head back home. Very disappointed boys but we just didn’t know…. Grateful they atleast got to play indoor laser tag though.
this place is ABOVE and beyond the best and more realistic place we’ve ever seen before, they’ve put a LOT into this location and providing a incredible experience to everyone who visits!!!
Well worth the drive as it’s a completely different level than the average laser...
Read moreOk, so basically I my mom didn’t tell me there would be shooting (she’s 87 can’t blame her ily mom) and so I thought there was real guns and I thought there was a real zombie apocalypse. War is very triggering to me because it reminds me of call of duty which is what my boyfriend broke up over me for, so as you can imagine my reaction was at first life threatening to not only me but everyone around as well. So I’m on the roof screaming and the staff is trying to calm me down but I’m drowning them out because I know they’re just hating on me since I could be attracting zombies, but honestly I wanted to die at that point anyways so I just drowned them out. Eventually, the police came but I got past the third taser so new record. When I realized it was all just a surprise from a single mom to her 56 year old daughter, I paused with a stunned face to make a scene, bursted out in tears to make it an emotional scene, and hugged my late mother to create the heart warming climax to our war story. Now all that was left was the falling action. We played for 2 hours and I only got 2 broken ribs this time. My mother played too but she was given special privileges since she had a walker. Don’t get me wrong my mother is great with guns and could probably take on any other challenger in a 1v1. In the end, I rate my experience 10/5 if I could due to its epic storyline that inspired me to write a 246.223 page book about it. Love y’all...
