So for our wedding this June (2017) I booked Johnson's Locust Hall Farm as our venue... And it was INCREDIBLE.
First of all, Allie, your personal venue coordinator, is the sweetest, most organized and patient person ever. You have a dream idea for your wedding? She helps make it happen! It was important to me for certain things at our wedding that most venues wouldn't allow (i.e. our dog as ring bearer), and Allie was open to hearing all of our ideas!
The venue itself is GORGEOUS. I mean, just incredible. The arch in the field makes for a picturesque ceremony, but if it rains like it did on our wedding day, the stone barn is an absolutely beautiful alternative! We actually think that the indoor wedding made for a more intimate affair!
And since it rained on our wedding day... The staff at Johnsons Locust Hall Farm was ON IT. We would dash out to the field with our photographer in between rain spurts, and as soon as the sky opened up again there was a pit crew of staff with umbrellas there to lead us back to the barns as dry as possible! It was obvious they were incredibly attentive to us the entire time we on site.
We used the farm house to get ready with our bridal party in the morning. It was beautifully decorated with ample natural light that was perfect for pictures. They provided us with refreshments and helped keep us on time for all the wedding day events. It was a ton of fun to have all of my bridesmaids with me getting ready in the gorgeous second story of the house!
I'd also like to talk about the price for this venue, which is incredibly important for any wedding budget! We had actually booked a similar outside venue prior to finding Johnson's Locust Hall Farm that was the same exact price... But it did not include bathrooms, beautiful old stone barns, a large staff of people to assist, or the amazing Allie. So when we discovered Johnson's we switched venues immediately! They are very reasonably priced, and after having been married there, I would have gladly paid double knowing exactly how much work they put into making our wedding day special.
Johnson's Farm has just installed brand new bathrooms, is constantly caring for their landscaping, and seems to be working towards new projects that only increase the beauty and value of the venue.
All of our guests mentioned to us and others that ours was a wedding they'd never forget - and we believe its almost entirely because of the venue we chose!
Thank you so much Allie! Continue to make wedding...
Read moreMy husband and I got engaged in September 2021 and started touring different venues by December that year. We wanted to tour a range of different venues to get an idea of what we like and what was actually in our budget. By the time we toured Johnson's Locust Hall Farm in January 2022 - the coldest day of the year - we were on our 7th tour and despite the cold, the minute we stepped on the farm we knew this was the place. The location is absolutely gorgeous even in January! I was sold the minute I was told I could get ready in the farm house and watch out at the ceremony site as it got set up throughout the day and watch guests come through the windows. You are literally in the middle of everything and able to take in the ENTIRE day that you spent a year or more planning and dreaming of. We got married at the ceremony site in front of the fields then had cocktail hour in the stone barn and reception in the breezeway barn. My husband and I got married in November 2022 and insisted on an outdoor ceremony despite the cold because it was so beautiful. EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. Commented on how beautiful and unique the venue is. If you need any more convincing that this is the perfect venue for your special day, Avery was our tour guide and eventually our day of coordinator on the farm and was professional and fun and day of, Allie was also beyond attentive and helpful. Avery made sure that everything we needed was taken care of before we realized we needed it. We wanted a sparkler exit and somehow the sparklers got lost and Avery pulled out sparklers from I don’t know where in the last 15 minutes of our celebration. She stays with you till the very end to make sure you have a perfect day. We would get married here over and over again. It is...
Read moreThe grounds are beautiful, things are well maintained and the staff is friendly. The prices are extremely high for the area, sadly we left the farm without the 2 pumpkins we picked as one alone was $16. We spent nearly $40 for one pumpkin, 2 small gourds, 1/2 gallon of apple cider (from Terhune Orchard in Princeton marked $6.79 but half off-essentially the price paid was equivalent to that in a grocery store for a full gallon), 1 pumpkin brownie & 6 small apples. The wagon ride, maze and play area were free for the day, if they weren't we wouldn't have been able to purchase the goodies or the one pumpkin (the pass for the wagon ride, play area & maze is $12/person). I wonder what is going to happen to my pumpkin and all of those others and the fruit left behind when they closed for the season. Fingers crossed they're harvested and donated rather than destroyed. I'm saddened by not only having been forced to leave behind the most perfect pumpkin carefully picked from the patch, but by the sad reality that so many local families wouldn't have even been able to afford what little we were. This farm isn't in a wealthy area, it's practically adjacent to a military base where many of the families receive the equivalent of food stamps to support their income and make sure their children are fed properly. I realize having a farm is a lot of work, but it takes a community to support the farm by purchasing their goods and if they continue to out price the area they'll continue to have a deserted farm. It just doesn't seem sustainable. We will return to New Egypt for our fall pumpkin needs next year and continue to support the local farmers who support the community with affordable produce. We love farms & buy locally as much...
