Lake Springfield Park And Boathouse Is A Great Natural Resource We Are Fortunate To Have Here In Our Own Backyard In Springfield Mo. I've been there many times through the years and the park has always felt safe, clean and well cared for regardless of the time of year. There is an abundance of wildlife including a pair of Bald Eagles that can on occasion be seen in or around the Lake so be sure and keep your phones/cameras ready for those fun unexpected photo opps! The kids will love the parks main playground area with its swings and jungle gym and the parents/caregivers will appreciate its covered pavilion with picnic tables and an incredible view of the lake! There is a paved walking trail that winds its way along the water's edge to the lakes Boat House! Here you will find clean bathrooms and a small gift shop with basic snacks, water and soft drinks along with a helpful staff that are there to answer questions as well as rent you kayaks and canoes to get you out on the lake for the hour or the day! Lake Springfield Park Is A Fun, Family Friendly Way To Reconnect With a bit of nature and a great place for you and/or the kiddos to get some fun exercise playing and exploring all the park has to offer. :)

Negative: My husband and I both have Kayak's and wanted to do something with our 17 year old daughter. We were going to rent a kayak for an hour for her. We didn't know it closed allowing rentals at 4pm. We were there at 3:55. We waited for a worker to get a couple of kids out on rental boards. When he was done we asked to rent a kayak for an hour. He said we were 5 minutes too late. Yes, while we had to wait - he closed up shop. So we took turns on our Kayak's. We won't be going back. The water and surrounding areas smelled like sewage. It smelled bad. Saw many snakes in the water too (we were there from 3:55pm-7pm). Positive: Not our thing but at least you don't get almost ran over by larger boats. All we saw was Kayak's

So fun! I’ve rented kayaks here multiple times and have a great experience every time. I usually rent a kayak for an hour and it cost about $12. The water is still water not moving so this is perfect if you just wanna relax or if you’re new to kayaking. They give you the life jacket, kayak, and paddle. They even help get you started and help you dock when your time is help. Staff is friendly. Also, there is a place to change your clothes before and after :) There is more to do here I’m sure, kayaking is all I’ve done tho.

Had my wedding here as the venue. Maximum capacity is 80, cost less than $600 to reserve for 8 hours. Nice views of Lake Springfield, and everyone I talked to at my wedding really enjoyed this place. People not in the official "wedding pictures" were even going outside to take pictures of themselves by the lakeside/boathouse. You HAVE help with the breakdown and cleaning up before your time is up or have people help with this, as the staff is renting out boats/assisting with other customers until 5pm. Then after 5pm the staff is supposed to be willing to help with some cleaning up. Also, this is a public place, meaning that the male/female public bathrooms are open to the public... I rocked putting on my suit in the bathroom, and it got hot in mid September, but I would not recommend it for putting on a bridal dress/makeup in the female bathroom. We used my parents airstream trailer for the bride and made prior arrangements for the parking spot closest to the outdoor outlet in the front of the building to use the...
