This is a very clean family oriented park which is beside the kanawha river. You can bring your boat,jet ski or fishing craft and enjoy a day on the beautiful Kanawha. Fishing can also be done on the banks mostly catch and release is what i see fisherman doing here. There are two shelters first come first serve where you can have parties or celebrations. The playground has been remodeled with a locked and a padded fence installed and no dogs allowed in that area. However you can walk your dog on a leash around the park on down the sidewalk path that gives the view of the river and three campsites. Read moreClean, well maintained...bathrooms could use a little attention. We spend most of our time on the baseball field. However, there are numerous shelters, trails, and playgrounds. The swimming pool is kept very clean, and there is an outdoor stage for concerts and plays. Durinf the summer they have an outdoor movie night. During November and December they have The Festival of Lights. A beautiful display of Christmas lights that you drive thru and at the end, Santa is setting in his rocking chair. The kids can visit with him and enjoy hot chocolate. Oh, important note...the lights are closed on Christmas eve and Christmas day. They reopen...
Read moreI can only speak on this place as far as their Christmas light show goes. Hands down they have a wonderful Christmas light show. I live in Charleston but have no problem to drive the 15 mins it takes to get here. Entry is FREE however they DO accept donations, which help with the future showings. If you have never driven thru their light show, I highly suggest you pile your kids in the car and head on down for a spectacular Christmas experience you will NOT regret.
