Sugar Creek Vineyard and Meadery — Attraction in St. Charles

We have been here a year ago and were anxious to make a return trip. This year was as good as the last. We had a group of 9 plus 3 dogs that the outdoor seating accommodated well. Our wine preferences are widely varied but Sugar Creek had us all covered

They have a few tables indoors but the outdoor seating was too nice to pass up. We had views of the vines and even a deer sighting down the hill

Pricing was typical and the service was fast. The staff (owners) were happy to answer questions and truly seemed to care about our overall experience

We are looking forward for another visit next year during our annual pilgrimage...

A hidden gem in the driftless area with an impressive selection of wines. We ordered a flight, and I was thrilled with the variety of dry reds and whites. Unlike many Midwest wineries that lean sweet, this place understands balance and depth. I always thought I didn’t like mead—but it turns out I just hadn’t tried a good one before! The owners generously offered several samples, and the friendly banter among locals made the experience even better. I took home two bottles, including their ginger mead. Can’t wait...
