My wife had been to the sculpture park before and absolutely loved it. This past Friday was a beautiful day, so we decided to drive the 50 minutes to the park. Upon arrival, I was told the park was busier than expected, and there were no golf carts to be rented. As I said, it was a beautiful day, and we only waited about 10 minutes, so no problem. We really enjoyed the park and the sculptures. Our only complaint was that we were told there was a one-hour limit to rent the golf cart because there was a special event that evening. Unfortunately, it is not physically possible to see all the sculptures in the park in that amount of time, and we had planned to spend several hours there given we had driven so far. We rushed through the park quickly trying to see as many sculptures as possible in the limited time we had. What we were planning to be a beautiful, unrushed day spent in nature turned out to be a day like any other day rushing from thing to thing AND we had to pay the same $20 for the one hour we had the cart as we would have another day when we could have kept the cart for several hours. Our recommendation would be to call in advance, and if there is a special event going on the day you are planning to go, I would choose another day. We just couldn't enjoy ourselves knowing that we had to have the cart back in an hour after driving nearly two hours round trip to see the sculpture park. We finished driving around to see the rest of the park in our vehicle, but it just wasn't the same as riding on the golf cart with the wind in your hair and the smell of the fresh fallen leaves. This situation could be remedied by having a reservation system online for golf cart rentals and by making people aware of special events. I had looked online prior to leaving and, had I known I would be restricted to a one-hour rental due to a special event, I would have chosen to go...
Read moreWhat an amazing hidden gem outside of the city of cincinnati! Be prepared to spend an entire afternoon at this park as it is very large and there is tons of ground cover. There are nearly 80 large sculptures to discover as well as paved and hiking trails. Dogs were welcome which was very wonderful for us! The mission is $10 per person but yearly memberships can be purchased. You can also rent golf carts which I would recommend if you have children, elderly people, or people that just generally have a difficult time walking because there are definitely lots of hills and lots of walking to be done. They also sell alcoholic beverages in the visitor center in the event that you want to have a picnic which I would highly recommend! We will definitely return. This place would be an excellent location for gatherings, family reunions, business events, weddings, etc. We really enjoyed the indoor sculpture museum. That was a really unique spot and a very educational place! I do wish they had more restrooms located throughout the park. There is only one restroom location in a pavilion and one in the museum. We did discover some porta potties down in the woods on a trail but it was not on the map. If you've never been to this place I would definitely recommend visiting. Just make sure that you have ample time to explore especially if you're walking. Also be prepared to walk up hills! Bring water and wear...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding there in September. The ceremony was beautiful, mostly because of the park and our family helping set up. The team relies on the park to do the heavy lifting. Many of the 'amenities' in the building did not work - the fountain? Broken. The built in speakers? Cords ransacked, and inoperable. The paper lanterns? "It's too hard to keep the batteries charged." When we signed the contract we were told we'd have access to all four bedrooms. Great, that way the groom and I could each have a private room to get ready, the caterer could have a prep space, and we could have a separate room for whatever we might need. The night before we were told we'd only have access to two of those rooms, as the others were converted to offices. It was suggested that my husband could get dressed in the caterer's room. I don't think I need to explain how ridiculous that is. Thank God we didn't have a wedding party or we could have had 10 people getting dressed on top of each other. They should have informed us immediately when they knew we wouldn't have access to those rooms so we could decide if we needed to find other accommodations or another venue altogether, but if I hadn't happened to ask, we wouldn't have found out until the day of. This is just such a lazy, dishonest way of...
