I think the concept of the glamping here is a good idea, it's just executed very poorly. I stayed in the Happy Dayz Houseboat and the first few minutes of getting into the rental had me hitting my head (there are multiple areas with low clearance), slipping (the welcome mat outside the door is not secured and will slip out from under your feet any chance it gets), and struggling to carry my items inside as the floor is not level. Upon opening the door my hand was immediately covered in condensation as the window AC is set next to the door and spits our water directly at the door handle. This also meant it was almost as far from the beds as it could be, so sleeping was still a warm affair. I was then upset to notice that the advertised twin beds were actually single beds; I did measure to confirm this. There were 3 unmarked remotes in the rental that we had to figure out what they controlled ourselves. One, for the AC, was easy to figure out, but one was for the string lights that we had to go into the crawl space type area to turn off as the remote only worked in one corner of that space. While looking around the area my friends and I checked out the showers only to notice that due to the way the doors were made to look rustic, they are actually see-through as the slats don't fully overlap and we did not feel comfortable with using them. While I understand that it is on a lake, and bugs and the like are normal, there were so many spiders that we were walking into spiderwebs every time we tried to go anywhere outside. The entire rental was covered in spiders to the point we started keeping track of some of them as we had 'befriended' them. Additionally, you cannot lock the rental when you leave which feels very unsafe. We spent some time out and were very worried about anything we left behind while we weren't at the rental. Overall I think this would have been a great upgraded camping experience but for 2 nights I paid $666 (you may want to adjust your pricing by a dollar, because that doesn't have the best connotations) and the facilities and experience were not worth that. I can pay 1/3 of that to rent a cabin that has running water next time. I picked this place because the website looked very nice and I loved the idea, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations and I wouldn't go back while the price...
Read moreI can not recommend Lost Hill Lake Wedding + Events enough. This place is absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. Samantha Williford is an absolute gem. Due to Covid my May wedding had been canceled by both my venues in St. Louis City. I found myself completely devastated and lost. On top of the fact we couldn't have large groups together. However, after sucking it up and drying some tears... it was back to the drawing board. I came across Lost Lake Hill in a Facebook ad, clicked it and fell in love🥰. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Samantha responded within 20 minutes of emailing to set up a viewing. She showed us a few spots on the property. We fell in love with the walnut grove. Especially, when she told us her grandfather planted all these beautiful trees 50 years ago 😲. The glamping spots were also an added bonus. It was perfect. Location isn't all... Samantha was A-MAZING🤯! Very responsive from the jump. She was ready to answer any and all questions. Very responsive and didn't leave me waiting for days like a lot of places. She was really helpful in helping me plan as I had no idea what I was doing. The planning call lasted a total of 30 minutes and everything was done. She also recommended a incredible florist called Sisterchicks Flowers & More. Which was an equally special experience. BUT... The day of really connected everything else! Sam was a rock star😎! We got in a bit late but she was so understanding and sweet about everything. I freaked out a little but she was supportive every step of the way. This isn't just a business for her. You can tell she really cares. Samantha didn't hover but she was there whenever I looked up for her. She kept in contact with me from the grove letting me know what was happening, got everyone seated, and got me down the aisle. It was an euphoric experience. Thats not all this place has to offer either. We spent our wedding night in the Big Blue Bus on the property. Once the sun went down this place got even better. The night sky was something to see. Even with overcast it was STUNNING 😍 ✨! Full moon! The sky was so bright and beautiful. We never see it that way in the city. Also, one of the property dogs came over to hangout a few times. Totally missed his name but a complete sweetie. All in all 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! GO HERE! SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY! They won't disappoint!...
Read moreMe and my family were so excited to have the first glamping experience, the House boat was reserved for two nights Sunday and Monday, leaving Tuesday morning! The kitchen area was dusti and a few black ants, we didn't pay too much attention and start downloading our food, suitcase and blankets, after one hour my family was having fun by the lake, after two hours we returned to the House boat, make dinner and a fire, by this time there were more ants and we swipped the floor and sprayed peppermint oil diluted with water, we did the same at the letrine (which the odor was disgusting) my grandbabies almost vomited! We went to sleep, so far the AC was working, but wasn't enough for the whole area! Next day Monday morning, we had breakfast, now the place had like 40 black ants, we killed them all, we went to the lake, we all had a wonderful time, the place was empty, we were the only guests! When we returned to the House boat there were like 70 black ants, we tried to kill them all, we had dinner and we went to the room, this is when we all freaked out, there were like ten ants in the bedroom, that's when we all decided to leave, we didn't even bother to let the owners know about our bad experience! We were told that the night before we arrived, they had a bachelor party at the House boat, we think that they didn't have enough time to clean the House boat top to bottom and the bathroom (letrine)! I don't think we want to return! The price per night is not cheap at all! If you like the confort, please don't come to Lost...
