Clark Creek Hiking Trail — Attraction in St. Francisville

I’m from Louisiana I live a little less than 2hours away and have been coming here for years it’s is definitely a workout hiking through the creeks but it’s definitely worth it. It might not be for all kids because of its intensity but we have had toddler‘s that have walked the whole trail with us and they did amazing but beware it is not for everyone we have also had people throw up because of the heat and the intense hike, it is best to plan ahead and bring lunch, snacks and PLENTY OF WATER! Very worth it, but unfortunately because of more people finding out about this wonderful hidden jem it has become a more popular spot with tourists and the locals so expect people. Ps do yourself a favor and DONT WEAR FLIP FLOPS you will regret it later, you will need well supported shoes with good grip that you won’t mind getting covered and filled with...

This is one of my favorite places to hike that is the closest to my area. I'm from Opelousas LA & it's only two hours away. There are primitive trails to hike through the woods but my favorite is following the creek to get to the waterfalls quicker! Be sure to bring tennis shoes that can get wet, as the hike along the creek has lots of boulder climbing & of course, water. Wear clothes that can also get wet, I usually wear my swimsuit underneath some hiking shorts! We like to bring a first aid kit also, as there is no cell reception once you're out there so if something happens you'll need to be prepared! I also like to bring a towel on the hike too for drying off as needed. I also leave a few towels in the car to dry off once I get back from the hike, as well as a dry change of clothes. What and amazing time this trail is a great hike. It's mixed with hills and valleys you can hike in the river if your a little more adventurous and make your own way to the different waterfalls there are several at least 6 and best time to see them is after a good rain. Water shoes are a must. The trail had several trees down on it but it made the trip all the more fun to me. Some places where muddy it had rained the day before. If your going to walk in the river it's not deep at all but some places if the ground is soft soft you could sink in the mud about a foot 😜. Enjoy this...
