If i could give less stars I would, CARLY the "closing manager" was EXTREMELY RUDE, got IN MY FACE and was very THREATENING, the staff pushed our family out the door and they repeated multiple times that we had to go without warning us we had EXACTLY ONE hour for our tasting... it felt like we were getting pushed out FORECEFULLY. One person in our party spoke spanish, so they brought out a spanish speaking crew to tell us "we can't leave until you go", as if they're forced to stay there until we leave; the "manager" said "oh yeah? i can hear your accent" when my wife and mother in law are FRENCH and my mother is Puerto Rican. This felt really racist and hurtful. They yelled at my elderly mother in a very THREATENING way to "drop her glass" or they would FORCEFULLY take it from her. Mind you they'd just charged us $200 for the "tasting". Of note, we had a 5pm reservation, and nowhere it is mentioned in the booking process that the tasting is limited to a 1-hour experience. It was not told to us either upon arrival or when they seated usually. They tried pouring all 3 sparkling wines at once and we asked if we could have them poured one by one since they would get warm and if there is one type of wine to taste chilled, it is this kind. No other winery throughout our many different visits in the valley ever poured all wines at the same time so it was strange to us that this particular place would, particularly because it is the one that should not serve their wine this way. From the start we ordered the Petite Pairing plate which didn't arrive to our table for over 25 minute into our tasting time. They eventually started turning off the lights on us. All of this could have been avoided with better communication and managing expectations. If we had known we had only one hour, we would not have ordered the snacks, and would have been more mindful of the time. During the tasting a lot of different folks from the waiting staff would come over every few minutes to take empty glasses. We had just sat down and were brought empty glasses to start the tasting, when one of them arrived to clear empty glasses, mind you at this point they were clean since we hadn't started the experience. It continued like this until the end when they were able to grab 1 to 2 glasses from each of us, that we had not even finished, since they were closing. There is so much that could be done better. It was a very disappointing experience for our first time here. We were considering joining their wine club but no one ever even presented the option. We will never come back here, as we felt we were treated so disrespectfully, worst experience...
Read moreMumm was recommended to us last minute by a friend, and their later close time was a convincing point for us to go. We showed up an hour before close, with a full parking lot, and more cars pouring in. The front staff were very warm, and accommodating, seated us in a lovely spot on the patio for us to enjoy the view. Our hostess was also extremely personable which gravitated our excitement ahead.
Everything about Mumm was our vibe, the only reason this isn’t a 5 star review was our server, Erik. He must have been having an off night or it was that we were one of his last tables (in a completely full environment and we had only been there 20 mins at this point.) He greeted us with the cadence of a cold fish, asked what we wanted, and didn’t see him again for another 15 mins. We had ordered their first tasting option and a glass of Rosé. He plopped our order on the table and gave us the most zombified speech about the wines. Didn’t see him again until he dropped the bill off, not a “have a good night,” or “come again! Thanks!”
All of the details of this seem petty until after we leave the table, my girlfriend uses the restroom and we have already paid out with a still generous tip despite the service. As I stand outside the restroom waiting for her to leave, Erik walks about a centimeter away from me to his server station, I mutter in a still friendly voice “have a great night, bye.” And he doesn’t acknowledge me, turns his head the other way, and walks to the station. I was befuddled, but not surprised.
Mumm was a great place and I would absolutely recommend it to anybody, I wouldn’t let an off night sway my opinion any...
Read moreMy friends and I went there to tey it for the first time. We got there at 530pm and waited in line. 3 of the employees came and told us we will be the last guests for the evening. Since there was such a buzz around being the last guests we were expecting something special. However it was really a warning that they dont like having guests who show up 30 minutes before closing down the gift shop and registers. We indicated that we had never been there and didn't know what to order. The waitress explained the menu and then asked what we would like. We ordered and shortly after our drinks arrived and were poured. Immediately after being poured the waitress asked if we wanted any bottles from the gift shop to take home. We said no for a few reasons. 1 we had never been there and weren't sure if we would have liked it enough to buy a bottle. Also we wanted to try a few different glasses to see what we would like. The waitress asked for payment immediately after being poured and stated they were closed. I no sooner got my slip signed when an old lady who worked there came and literally grabbed the slip out of my hand. She recognized how rude she was i think and started to talk to try and smooth it over. However her comments only made it worse. She said "yes everything looks great, we have ran your card and have signed your slips" then she walked away. So pretty much the whole thing was a very rude rush just to get 4 glasses poured and paid for. It really...
