A family member had went to a movie tonight, she was directed to the wrong theatre which caused them to miss the first 5 minutes of the movie. After losing her phone (which happens so often for those who are not attached to the hip to it), they had then asked several employees. One had said they seen a phone resembling hers(very cracked screen)on the counter but seemed to steer away when another emoloyee chimed in and continued to say it was her phone(which only had a small crack) but her employee swore the phone they saw on the counter was clearly shattered. Anyways my family member continued to talk to a manager, a bigger set male I’d say gentleman but that’s way to nice. He continued to belittle her, and make her feel unwelcome and embarrassed. Fast forward she comes home, we have a general location and it is pinging at saint michael. We then went as a group of three to Politely go and search the theatres because one of them the movie wasn’t starting for a half hour, and the other was getting over very shortly and was not scheduled for another showing according to the showtimes on the internet. We searched the first theatre and then sat and waiting patiently for the movie to end and for patrons to exit. We entered the second theatre and was given very very little time maybe 3 minutes to look, and ended up being pushed out, it was so very unwelcoming and I will never bring my business or ever recommend anyone to go there. For me and my family to get treated in such a trashy way I’m ashamed to have ever given business to you over the many years. Kindness is free, don’t EVER judge someone based on asking for help, you never know what someone’s got going on in their life. Cheers to Rogers having a...
Read moreInexpensive, uniquely themed (like a French villa), the St. Michael Cinema is my theater of choice. Tickets can be purchased at a number of kiosks as well as at the box-office, concessions are reasonable, and everything's nice and clean. The staff is also quite friendly.
Downstairs, they have the lobby (with a windmill!), concessions, a free videogame arcade, and the restrooms, as well as a room you can rent for meetings and parties. Upstairs is a bar & grill (seating downstairs as well), complete with a view of the lobby and the large windows to the outside. Also upstairs is a separate meeting area, with yet another meeting area two levels up.
The bar is nice, with a good selection of drinks on tap. The bar staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and consistent. They often have themed drinks for popular shows of the time, and their food is pretty good even though it's a small menu, and it includes such items as boneless chicken wings, poutine, pizza, sandwiches, and more.
Their signature attractions are the "Eiffel" screen, which isn't an IMAX screen but it's still absolutely huge, and Le Musique Room, a screen converted into a stage for music acts.
While not perfect, the St. Michael Cinema has more character than the big chains in nearby Rogers or Monticello, is just as inexpensive (or even less), has plenty of screens, and is simply a better place to enjoy an afternoon or evening. It's also right off the intersection of the Interstate and a major highway - quite literally the first intersection after you leave the Interstate. Parking is plentiful as well!
I don't know what it was like before it reopened, but the St. Michael Cinema is now my favorite theater in...
Read moreThis is the most awesome theater ever! Ticket prices are $8.00. They have a discounted rate for seniors for matinees and even on weekends. Matinee hours are 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Their senior rates are:; $6.00 during the weekdays and $7.00 during the evenings. NOTE: It's cold inside the theatre being a blanket if you need more than a jacket to keep you warm!! Their chairs are so comfortable. The rows way down in front are our favorite because they lay down like a recliner but the chair doesn't rock. They are so comfortable! The next row back is set up for the disabled with a wheelchair and a companion chair next to it. Going farther up all the chairs are rocking chairs and are so comfortable!! Every theatre show is set up like this but one I've come across is one theater that doesn't have the recliners in the very front row! The concession stand is fully stocked with candy and delicious popcorn! They also have a tub of popcorn which you can purchase for around $25.00 and refill it for a year each time you visit the theatre! What a deal!! Talk about fully stocked, before or after the movie you can have a libation with your friends at Le Bar! It's a fully stocked bar located on the second floor. The Cinema free arcade room for the kids which is pretty cool. St. Michaels cinemas also has a has an Eiffel Screen which is a 70-foot screen auditorium with 4K resolution movies. The auditorium is designed to be taller than any other theater. Theater is the best little kept...
