A lil over a year ago we bought a quarter cow from a local farmer. The farmer took it to this place for processing. At first the meat seemed good, but nothing to write home about. Today we finished the beef with short ribs. I wouldn't process another animal here to save my life. ALL but two of our steaks were just ok. We had a total of 8 or 10. It's been a year.... All the products from the roasts, steaks, soup bones and ground beef were very fatty and it was if we got the ends of the good product. Which is actually probably what happened. They took the good parts and sold them off as individual in their store. I can't prove it but I wouldn't doubt it. My husband at this point thinks also that they gave us the scraps. The short ribs he cooked today are completely FAT. Hardly ANY meat what so ever maybe 15% at best and he even had to cut off the excessive fat already there. Thankfully we have two JRTs so it wasn't a complete waste. Our fur kids get some bones anyways. I took pix to show I'm not exaggerating. Nor to mention we had to drive an hour to get the beef. I don't blame the farmer at all, but I'm sure the butcher will. Passing fault, that's what most ppl do these days instead of taking responsibility. But we've moved even farther noth so we won't be dealing with it anyways. Don't like bad reviews? Don't make bad product or take someone's else's beef for your own profit. We paid for it. No point in making a comment back. Next time you want a great review, make a great product. I only write FACTS. and I have photos to back it up ,too so, ya. We were trusting based on past reviews. Glad other ppl got to eat the best of what could've been our cow we paid for.

The stuffed beef canoe was fairly spicy but not too bad. It is mutually the best thing I have put in my mouth the past few months 🤌 . I wish I would have gotten a 2nd one as this place is a hour away. Trying the Tater Tot Hot dish brats tonight. I have told a few ppl I have tator tot hb brats and everyone was were curious.. never have seen that before so 🤞 The cuts of Ribeye do not have much marbling and it's like $7 more a lb than where I normally go. No Ribeye for me

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE The Hungry Farmer! They have great pricing and all the options of meat and cuts you could ask for. Plus, other items like Minnesota made butters and honey as well as sodas and ice cream! We haven't bought meat products from anywhere else in the past 2 years straight. Love you guys!

I’m a Firm believer in supporting Small Town, private businesses ! I was very glad to see the Happy Farmer move in. They have a great staff Customer Service, selection, and prices. But!… I was a little disappointed during my last visit. They have a sign on the door that said “FACE MASK REQUIRED” . There was a constant flow of customers going in and out Not Wearing a Mask. While I was there I saw at least 5 people around me without one and not one employee said anything while they served them. Disappointing to me for a Food service store Not enforcing this simple Law. For the Safety of all people, not just in that store, Just Wear the Mask! And businesses , if you want to stay open,...

We had them process some pigs for us. They send their person out to dispatch the pigs on the farm and then he hauls them in. I liked that idea because it is better for the animal. No stress from being transported. Their guy chased and chased them around their pen and severely traumatized them. I was devastated. Our animals live a good life and did not deserve that. We had tried their products and they are good. That is also part of the reason we chose them. We had recommended them to others who raise their own animals. Others were also looking for the ease of them coming to the farm and the diminished stress on their own animals. After our experience they are all...
