New England Meat Company — Attraction in Stafford

I used to absolutely love this place. The people were and are still very friendly. However the meat is.. or at least the slaughtering at Eid is not Halal. You can't actually Zabiha here on Eid.

The animals are hung screaming after watching other animals die. This is against the decree of the scholars and our prophet ﷺ.

Imam Bukhari narrates in his Sahih al Adab al Mufrad about the virtues of showing mercy towards the animals while slaughtering it. The narrator is Qurra ibn Abi (May Allah be pleased with him). A man said, “I slaughter animals but I show mercy towards the animals, too. I do not sharpen the knife before their eyes. I do not slaughter the animal in front of other animals.” The Prophet ﷺ responded”“If you are showing mercy upon the animal even while slaughtering it, then Allah will show mercy upon you as well.”

Was very disappointed. The place was very hot. Espechally for the employees to be handling the raw meat. Saw the employees handling chicken then Beef. With out changing gloves. Can some one say cross contamination! Then when it came time to check out. The employee was still wearing the gloves they were wearing while handling meat. There was a peace of rotten meat in the display case. Looked like a tenderloin. Also the whole place smelt of rotten meat. Everthing in the freezer looked freezer burnt and vacuum seal was not so vacuumed. In my opinion I think someone will get sick from the products at this place. I never leave reviews on a location. But this place was just unacceptable. I will say the fresh cut meat did look good. But the handling of it is...

I made an appointment to drop off a steer here. After taking the day off work to take care of this I ended up leaving with the steer still in the trailer. Apparently they can only unload a trailer with a roll up door because their loading dock is about a 2' step up. The gentleman then proceeded to rudely tell me that I didn't have a cattle trailer because the door swings open. He told me he would help me this one time but if the steer gets out he's my responsibility not his. I asked for the manager and he said the manager isn't here I'm the boss. I've brought several beef to Salem Prime Cuts with said trailer and never had any problems. Guess I will be driving an hour instead of 25 minutes to get my beef processed.
