My first Sky Meadow visit, and I'm hooked! My stay was not part of a group retreat, just me and my husband staying in the Pond House for a relaxing personal retreat. Erin, the hostess, gave us the tour, pointing out herbs and fruits (both cultivated and growing wild) on the property along the way. She even let us help with the raspberry harvest. And the blueberry bushes in front of our lodging were just ripening, so we got to snag a few berries whenever we passed. Little bites of heaven! My favorite was when she took us foraging for herbs to dry and make tea or tinctures with. She was very knowledgeable, told us the benefits and uses of each herb, and responsibly encouraged us to confirm anything she said with our own research before we consume any finished product. Our lodging was also very comfortable, even in high summer! I'd love to come back in the fall. There was a wood stove and ever so many pegs and hooks to hang your damp things or bundles of herbs to dry, and I couldn't help picturing how perfect that would be when there's a touch of frost in the air. My only complaint was that we were only staying 3 days! There's so much more to see and explore, and I'll be wishing myself back at Sky Meadow until the next time I can get there. (I know this is a long review, but I didn't even cover all the good things we packed into just 3...
Read moreThe place was beautiful and I had an amazing time. I was lucky enough to join a retreat led by a great friend at this beautiful place. My only real complaint was, about half way through the experience, the electric pump on the well broke. We had to pump and carry water by hand from the well in order to drink, cook, flush toilets etc. Honestly, the whole group had a great attitude and I didn't really mind. Next, the host (owner of Sky Meadow) comes running into the middle of our retreat looking for my good friend leading our retreat. In front of all of us, he starts by saying, you haven't paid and I need to be paid right now. Mind you the invoice clearly stated net 30 meaning he had 30 days to pay and this guy is interrupting his retreat demanding money as we don't have running water! I was in complete shock at how unprofessional and simply rude this was. Again, this property was absolutely amazing and I would be back but certainly would have liked to see a more...
Read moreThere’s no other place like this. I am struggling to put into words what Sky Meadow means to me, because I can feel my place I’m the universe when I’m there, and that’s probably a different feeling for different people, but maybe it will suffice to just share that every time I leave there I feel renewed, resulting in greater patience with my family, and also with the sometimes unpleasant aspects of my workaday reality. The grounds are adorable and vast, with lots of cute places to meditate. The accommodations are comfortingly rustic, warm and cozy. I can’t recommend it enough. If you want to remove yourself from the trappings of modernity to remind yourself what matters, book your stay and know it will be exactly what you’re...
