A park with a campground and a nice long beach right on Lake Superior.

I came here for the beach (for rock hunting agates and Yooperlites), but was pleasantly surprised by the park. This looks like a great place to camp!

There's a large yellow building with a smaller white one off to the side that had windows like it might serve food (not sure if it actually does, though). There is a small playground area, picnic tables, grills, and some informational signage. There are restrooms here. Didn't really take as much of a look around the park as I should have, I'll have to swing through again someday.

The beach goes on and on. There are so many colorful rocks, and the waves are mesmerizing. Didn't find either of the types of rocks I was looking for on this trip, but it was still very enjoyable to look.

This is a nice spot to visit,...

Known mostly by the locals, this is one of the great places for an authentic lake superior experience. I grew up going here on the weekends with my parents, since my father grew up in the nearby town of Toivola. Yes, you can definitely find agates here, as well as beautiful Lake superior sunsets, places to camp and have a cookout, as well as enough space for children to run around or explore nature. The local fire department still puts on the Midsummer(Juhannus) bonfire on Saturday closest to the summer solstice every year, and the nearby hall is still opened for occasional local events. There is a playground for the kids, the area is...

The tent campsites are roomy but are side by side with no barriers. They are also at the bottom of a slope, leading all water directly to your tent if it rains. We paid for 3 nights and gave up after 2. Noisy quads drove back and forth on the road until 4 am, blaring radios from the back. There were 5 cars at the next campsite over having a party that went on until after 3 am and some random guy walked around screaming all night. Two sites down there were 2 people who slept in their car, which it looked like they were living in. They popped the trunk and let bass music pound until around 1 am. Ultimately, don't camp here if you plan...

This is a great campground $15 a night, beachfront camping with a swimmable beach which offers beautiful sunsets, the night sky's filled with stars / the milky way and the possibility to find agates! A water pump that works, and outhouses. It is down some rough roads dirt and paved. Make sure that you have all you need as it is some 20 mile to a gas station and anout 40 miles to the nearest town that has supplies!

Adorable little camping spot with day use only sites along the water and then a large circle of campsites in an open clearing and sprinkled down the road. A few were wooded but most are wide open spaces with a firepit ring, picnic table, a small play area for kids, and vault toilets. Not bad for $20 a night. A little heavier traffic through the night due to rock hunters on the beach.
