Did this as part of a Double Arch/ Star Gap Arch/ Arch of Triumph hike which was supposed to be 4.6 miles. An app showed I finished at 10.0 miles. I tried to leave no side trail unexplored. Most of this hike is a gravel road which socks for many reasons. 1 is because there is a parking lot at the end of the road which you cannot use. I also took the spur to Jailhouse Rock. The Star Gap spur is .5 mile. There are 2 trails to the bottom. One (closest to the arch) is a little more treacherous. It entails a double rock drop of about 10-12 feet. A piece of rope would have helped. If you're looking for solitude, peace and quiet go during the week. It's an awesome spot which I highly recommend. Sometimes I hike 10 miles during the week and see only a handful of hikers all day. If you like to hike in large numbers go on the weekend especially the 3rd weekend in October. I find those times ridiculous especially parking. If folks would angle park...

Getting to the arch requires making a few correct turns (if you pass junk and old car parts, you've gone too far). After turning left onto the the unmarked trail from the wide gravel trail/road, stay on the main trail and when in doubt go right. When you get on top of the arch, the easiest way to get down is a trail to the left before you get on top of the arch (so back track a bit) but you can also get down from a trail after you walk past the...
Read moreHiked to double arch and also went to natural bridge, and this arch was my favorite of them all! Not only did I have it all to myself, but the view and breeze coming through the arch was just incredible. It's very easy to miss the trail leading down to it, it'll be on the left down off the main trail, and is very steep in some spots. I'm shocked it's not more popular and wasn't a part of my map. I simply detoured to find it, and was blown away....
