Can I put more than 5 stars?

I had the amazing opportunity to visit Starworks, and first of all, I didn’t even know where Star, North Carolina was. I had never heard of Starworks before, but while visiting Uwharrie Mercantile nearby, the owners recommended I check it out. From the moment I drove up, I was overwhelmed in the best way. The building, the layout, the town—it all felt like discovering a hidden gem. It’s one of those places that makes you say, “How does something this incredible exist here?”

I had lunch there and got the vegetable tamales with cheese and rice from Eden’s Garden. They were seriously delicious. I’d never had tamales with broccoli in them before, and they were packed with flavor. I was genuinely impressed. The food was fresh, and the service was warm and welcoming. You could tell everyone there believes in what they’re doing.

The space itself is just stunning. Art everywhere. Glassblowing in action. Pottery. Kilns. Creative energy in every corner. Even the inspirational quotes throughout the building added something special. It’s one of those places where you walk in and just instantly feel more inspired and alive.

Talking with the staff and learning more about the mission of Starworks made me even more excited. This place has already come so far, but it’s clear there’s even more growth ahead—and not just for Star, but for all of Central North Carolina and beyond. Honestly, this place could be a creative hub for the entire East Coast.

I will absolutely be back. I’ll be bringing friends, groups, anyone I can convince to come. If you’re in the arts, or even if you’re just a curious traveler or someone who loves good food and beautiful spaces, you’ve got to go. Starworks is inspiring, energizing, and just flat-out amazing....

The glass shop was a fantastic experience! Wife signed us up to make hearts for Valentine's Day. We had a mid afternoon class & the instructors were stellar. They were very informative, very involved, & made sure we not only enjoyed the experience but also understood & learned while in the process. Absolutely great time & experience. Can't wait to go back. The facility is an amazing old building that houses many different skills to learn like blacksmithing, welding, glass working, pottery & clay working, & there are multiple galleries & also a café. Visit! You won't be...

They had a show with hourly demonstrations by seriously talented glass artisans. Joe Hobbs was exceptional.. he was the "master" and had many skilled assistants to help him. Even a few jokes were thrown in for fun. Each hour on the hour a new artist would demo. Very approachable and interactive. Looking forward to many...

This place is an artist’s dream! A large gallery, supply shop, glass, iron and clay workshops and sculpture everywhere. Sign up for their email newsletter for happenings like firefest. Lovely cafe and bar available for local food and music. I highly recommend that you get plugged into Starworks! Excellent people and amazing place.
