Wow, great hike. Kinda hard to get to, but it's worth it. A good hard climb on an obvious trail leads to a little boreal pine wood and the pond. Primitive camping (out house)can be found there, and the trail intersects Kilkenny Ridge trail. I saw moose and coyote tracks. Be careful up there not to disturb the environment anymore, then you need to.

Unknown Pond Trail to the Horn and the Bulge is an excellent choice. The trail is mostly gradual but has some steeper sections mixed in. Unknown Pond has some decent tent sites if you want to spend the night. I'm not sure about the road maintenance in the winter but the dirt road was in good shape with no snow. I highly recommend this route

This trailhead is on Mill Pond Road and has only a few parking spaces along the side of the dirt road. You'll find the hiking sign just before a bridge over a brook. This section of the road is not maintained in the winter time. It is a 2.2 mi hike with 1500 ft of gain to Unknown Pond.

Multiple miles of rough gravel driving, then tight parking on the side of a dirt road. It’s a somewhat long hike from here to Mount Cabot; there are probably easier spots from which to start both in terms of the hike itself and the access to the trailhead. The trail is nice enough but was very...
