Awesome hike- uphill right away and then kind of keeps going up and down. You can see the mine and then keep going to the river. Not much shade at the beginning. We saw a moose right off the trail! Nice views and you can see the falls for part of the way. The trailhead is not by the falls trailhead but up a little ways on the street. Parking lot gets full fast! But there are picnic areas at the falls trail...
Read moreWe enjoyed this out and back trail. The last section can get quite narrow with overgrowth, so wear pants. Lots of bugs too- we used our repellent wipes and were fine. The mine is cool and there is a huge rock nearby if you want a snack or rest. First part is quite sunny with little respite from the sun. Quite rocky in places, wear your good hiking shoes.
