I have been there several times for the Kiwanas Wild Game dinner . Nice place for the most part but there is not enough parking. If there is an event and you don't arrive early good luck finding g a place to park. This past week there were people paring anywhere they could once the lot was full and this would be on the lawn in the snow, in areas clearly marked no parking , fire lanes etc.. There is nowhere else to park nearby so arrive early for events. The beverage and drink situation also needs improved, there are only 2 bars on each end for everything from water to all other beverages. The wait for a drink was long only to be given a very small plastic cup and I do mean small. I had water but I did notice one of the bars had nothing but beer as the soda dispenser was not working so only one place for sodas and mixed drinks. It seems there could be a better system for this. I was glad I was only drinking water and the water was at least self serve and less waiting to get your tiny plastic cup filled. Other than these issues it is not a bad place as far as being clean and modern. It would be ok for a wedding or smaller private event as I m sure the parking would be ok for that. It is the larger events that they do not have enough...
Read moreWell, my fiance and I started going to some of the area's Polish festivals and dances. We went to the American Polish Century Clubs festival last July and had such a great time that we wondered if they held hall type dinner dances. Come to find out that they had regularly scheduled dinner dances throughout the year. The first one that we found out about was Columbus Discovers Pierogi in October. This dinner dance featured TWO bands, one Italian and one Polish....constant music, non-stop. We have never been to anything like it. The menu was split with Italian and Polish favorites, what a great time. Then came the Christmas dinner dance in December followed by the 'Poor Mans New Years Eve dinner dance on January 26th....yeah the 26th. What a blast, noise makers, countdown to midnight, a great band with 3 gals harmonizing (singing Polish). AND the menu, well, I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise but I will tell you, It was a TREAT for all of us. They did have the 'regular' New Years Eve dance but we couldn't make it. You want a fantastic night out???? I'll see you at the next dance!!!! OH, and by the way, ya can't...
Read moreWe came here for my mom's surprise 80th birthday celebration. If I am being honest, I was a little apprehensive about going someplace I had never been before for such a special occasion. But from the moment we stepped in the room and saw it so beautifully decorated, my apprehension started to ease up a bit. As the layers unraveled, the better it got. It was a small party of about 46 people, and our service staff consisted of 2 women. They were awesome. I wish I had gotten their names because they didn't skip a beat. The were friendly and attentive. The food was actually pretty darn good too. The presentation was nice and there was a lot of attention paid to the smaller details. It was just so beautiful. But, one of the best things they did was bring in a 6' "throne" for my mom with a couple Christmas trees next to it. That was so fun and everyone got a kick out of it. I am so glad I now know about this place because I definitely plan on using them again in the future. Thank you Century Banquet Center for making my mom's day...
