We did this bridge as part of the Columbia County Covered Bridge Trail, and it was one of our favorites. This bridge, while closed to traffic, is very well maintained. It has picnic tables painted by local artists. The side of the bridge closest to Route 487 is flanked by private homes. The best route was to take Lower Raven Creek Road to Paperdale Road. The white structure to the left of the bridge looks a little like a old white church, but upon closer inspection is a private residence, and there are "Private Property" signs posted. HOWEVER, there is also a Port-A-Potty on that side. There is room on the right side of the road to park a few cars. There was a fisherman that got there before us.

The Stillwater Covered Bridge was built in 1849 for $1,124.00 and crosses Fishing Creek in the Borough of Stillwater, after which it was named. It can be found on Township Route 629 east of State Route 487. It is a Burr Arch truss with an old cross wooden deck that spans 168 feet.

An oldie, but Goodie! Rather unique with its herringbone decking. Last time I was there, it had all new rough wood siding installed - not yet painted. Be sure to sign the Guestbook!
