THIS REVIEW IS RELATING TO US USING THEM AS A WEDDING VENUE NOT AS A GOLF COURSE.

This place as a venue is GORGEOUS! We rented the ceremony site and reception hall. We picked the ceremony site by the willow trees. It was everything we could have ever dreamed of! It turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The willow trees hanging down with a pond and fountain behind us made for a picture-perfect wedding ceremony. The reception hall is amazing! The best part about it is, it’s such a pretty place, with its wood interior, vaulted ceilings and massive bay windows, you don't have to add many decorations, besides center pieces on the tables, because it has its own beauty to it. The day of the wedding all the gentlemen helping us were extremely helpful and were always there for us when we needed them. The real star was a gentleman named Cam. He is a total ROCKSTAR!! This guy was the biggest help for our rehearsal dinner and on the day of. He was our absolute go to guy for everything. Whatever we needed or asked of him he did. He never pushed back or complained. If it was something difficult, he just took it upon himself to figure it out no matter what the request was! He truly made our day run smoothly and worked harder than anyone else. So why 3 stars? I'll tell you... When we first booked this venue, we signed with a gentleman named Matt, who was awesome. Sadly, he left for another position and we got stuck with SAMI SANDERS... She was possibly the WORST person we worked with throughout our entire wedding planning experience. I will give her this, she was very good at fielding questions from us, we had a ton, and giving us an answer. The problem was if it wasn't a straight forward question that could be answered easily, she was TERRIBLE. Anytime we had a request of some sort she ALWAYS put up a fight or acted as if we were inconveniencing her. She always had an excuse and was never willing to go to bat for us on anything! Going into our rehearsal and day of we were terrified that our wedding was going to end up terrible because she was so bad at her job and didn't care in any way that things went well. She was terrible at communication, days between emails, we didn't even find out she replaced Matt until about 6 months after he left, the only reason we found out was because WE reached out and found out from the guys at the pro shop that Matt left. To get her to respond to my calls I had to request info from her through the website, the place where prospective clients go through, I also had to call the GM to finally get her to email me. She isn't proactive at all. We always had to be the ones to reach out about tasting, viewings of the venue, our rehearsal times, EVERYTHING! We asked her point blank if she was our point of contact for the rehearsal and the day of, she said yes. She then decided to not show for the rehearsal without telling us, however that was the best thing that happened because that’s when we met Cam. Then the day of we didn't see her until after dinner was being served, we saw her for all of 20 seconds and then never to see or hear from her again. She is truly an AWFUL event coordinator and desperately needs some guidance or to find a new field of work. We tried so many times to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she always proved us wrong. Had she been the coordinator when we first viewed this place we would have never booked because anyone with eyes can see she's extremely incompetent in her job with just a simple conversation. However, we are extremely happy that we had our wedding here because it turned out perfect, no thanks to her. I would absolutely recommend this as a venue because it’s beautiful, just keep in mind you will be doing EVERYTHING and will have ZERO help from the one person you're supposed to be able to depend on, Sami Sanders. If CAM were to take over her position, he would excel greatly at it and really turn this place into the venue it could be. Everything, except Sami, was...

Oak Glen Golf Course was the most beautiful venue for my son and his bride's wedding in July. Our coordinator Kelsey was amazing and available to help every step of the way. This was a destination wedding as the groom and bride live in Ohio and the families live in Wisconsin and Iowa. As MOG there was no stress as Kelsey took care of all the details. To start with you will find the venue beautifully landscaped with many options for pictures, including water features. Indoors you will find very comfortable and designed in neutral colors that will enhance any wedding decor. I loved the lights that cascade across the ceiling. I also loved the large windows throughout offering natural light. The bride and groom suites were well appointed for your wedding party offering plenty of room to get ready and just relax. Onsite accommodations offer breakfast, lunch and drinks for your wedding party. The wedding sites were private and allowed for a more personalized ceremony. The reception area and bar offered plenty of space for everyone to mix and mingle. We were invited to a food tasting in January to try all of the dinner options. There are so many options to choose from and everything was so delicious. It was hard to make a decision. The dinner service was great. There were plenty of servers to make sure everyone ate at the same time (credit to the chef and serving staff). The bar had unlimited options, making sure everyone was satisfied. The dance floor was large enough so everyone could celebrate the night away. The sound system was amazing. The bathrooms were very clean and nicely appointed. Oak Glen Event Center offers many different options to accommodate everyone's different styles. I would not hesitate to have another event here if I am ever back in the area. The town of Stillwater is very quaint and there are some nice accomodations close by for your guests. Many thanks to Kelsey and staff for making this special day in my son's life so...

I played Aug 29, 2024. I play Oak Glen a lot and have always enjoyed this course; I give it five stars. But unfortunately, this last time was a disappointment. I am having surgery for total knee replacement on Sept 5. I wanted to get all the rounds of golf possible before the surgery. I also have a friend who fractured her pelvis three months ago and was trying to get back to golfing. My friend's second time out, and we chose Oak Glen as it is a great course that is easy on the body. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the course, the pro shop informed us of aeration on the greens. There should have been a mention of this on the online site. But I have golfed in the fall on aeration greens, which is doable. We paid for our round and proceeded to play. Then we got to the first green, and it was unplayable. There was so much sand on the green; the excessive sand on the green resulted in the ball being coated with sand, requiring pick up and cleaning. Plus, I had sand all over my clubs. The next several holes were miserable. The fairways were as beautiful as always, but the greens were disappointing. We considered quitting on the 9th, but we wanted to play. We continued and quit scoring as it was meaningless to putt for any score. I couldn't set my putter on the green as I would have to clean it. Some greens had over a 1/4 to 3/8 inch of sand. One time I hit a beautiful shot to the green when I looked closely I thought I had hit into a bunker. I understand the need to do the aeration, but the sand was a killer. I wouldn't have complained if half the course were aerated, but 3 1/2 hours was depressing. I felt terrible as this was probably the last time I got to golf with my friend this year. Given my situation, I would have passed and tried another course. I saw no notice of the aeration on the online site, and the aeration was so aggressive. Just disappointing. I will still play Oak Glen in the future, but please put a notice on the...
