We are visiting from out of town and was recommended to visit this park by a local Big Pine resident. This park is operated through Monroe County. It’s quite a large park facility with a lot of open space for kids and pets to roam. Dogs are allowed, but must remain on a leash. There are dog waste stations, providing doggie waste bags so be sure to clean up after your pet. Other amenities include a shaded playground, walking track, water front pavilions, dock with site seeing binoculars and a bench, a vending machine, basketball and tennis courts, fitness stations, skate park, bicycle racks, baseball field and a concession stand that is open during sporting events. The playground is a sanded area so feel free to bring beach toys. There is also restroom facilities, plenty of parking and this park is conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. Read moreI lived on Big Pine for 30 years and I think that was a biggest joke in the whole world I ever built that place they don't even give locals the old place is back that they been there for ever and they won't even hurry up and fix them they put that place out there for what reason no one really knows the people around there must hate the damn place they need to open up the Big Pine swimming hole cuz that's what they're supposed to be just like when they put the key deer Bridges under for the deer to walk under they were supposed to open the back way around that all the way through two ships way to The Avenues they are supposed to open that up they still haven't done that Big Pine sucks by Hurricane destroyed my property I sold it and I left and I don't ever plan on ever going back there I thought was beautiful at one time it just...
Read moreI dont personally use the facilities here, mostly because I'm 62. It is a nice facility and, it is my "voting" location which is why I visited today. There are nice restroom facilities. There are large grassy areas that border the sea channel that flows between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. There is a skate board course and other similar facilities. Of particular interest to me, as a child I visited here on summer vacation, but back then the site was the Vista Linda motel where we stayed.
