No frills beach but big and rarely ever crowded. No bathroom ( now has port a potty), no lifeguards, no vending or stores, free, couple of benches on beach but easy to find a spot to sit on the sand, dogs are allowed and quite common but BRING WATER for them to drink as the river is SALT water, very long and wide beach for walking/playing, sandy in some spots, small pebbles or granular sand. Can be no other people on the beach at times. Water is cold but you can swim but gets deep fast, fast currents. You might see seals in the water but not abundant, sea birds and occasionally kids can find small crabs and shells. Good to spend a couple hours but without amenities it's not...

The sand is more like grit or gravel, but take in the scene and you'll quickly find yourself surrounded by an expanse of color in a wide range for these colors to float and stream together. Why take away too much from the scene, though? Hang out for a bit. Maybe you'll find a wild fox of some other animal to enjoy the company of. Kinda tricky to find because not every street is well marked (at least on Google maps) but once you get there it's worth it. Plenty of parking, they have a Port-o-potty there for convenience.
