I've loved this park and its community center since around 2009. I have too many memories there and will never forget how even as a kid going every Saturday to watch the kids play soccer, when i would coach little pre-k and 6th graders and have practice and actual games there. The times we would have in the snack bar selling snacks or when my friend Lamell Davis, came with us and helped. And on down time we would play a little dice game for pushups. All the way to 2012 when i first graduated and stayed around the corner on village green drive. That park me and my high school love Margo Haddad would have little rendezvous there and then me and the mother of my kids would park there and smoke or eat then talk for longest.. To just recently couple month's or so ago meeting a wonderful women named Desiree with a good friend of mine named Renee.. Even though it was just the one time i felt like i could tell what an amazing person she was and why she touched so many hearts before struggling with cancer and it eating away at the very person she was. Anyway.. Dont think i could ever forget the times me, Deante Amos, Angelique Elliot, Lorissa Carter, & Tino would shoot some basketball there while smoking a blunt after I'd get off work. It was some of the best times of my life at that park. And ended up sleeping in that same park once before meeting with my kids that morning to give thier mother some money she...
Read moreThe park is normally quite clean, except for the geese poop. There's a double tennis court, a number of picnic tables, and one covered tables area. Nicely-maintained playground, grass, two ball diamonds and a pretty pond with a fountain. There used to be a very pretty weeping willow tree, but it was vandalized and had to be trimmed back so much it is not very pretty. All in all, still a very nice place for a family or anyone to enjoy. UPDATE Sep. 2022 The weeping willow tree has since been cut down and all of the children's play equipment (slide, swings, etc) removed. There's still plenty of geese poop, though. UPDATE May 2024 NEW playground equipment has been installed and new trees have been planted. Kids appear to love the new playground equipment as they climb and scream out to their friends. None of the new trees are redwoods to match the existing trees and will take decades to provide any useful shade, there are a lot of them and are a...
Read moreWould have given 5 stars but unfortunately a lot has changed at this park over the years that makes it a much less desirable place to visit.... from the genius idea the city had to ban fishing in the man-made small lake (which was awesome for testing out my bass lures, doing catch and release on some real lunkers in the 6lb. Range!), to the recent capture of that crazy serial killer that was running around Stockton for awhile (who was apprehended on the little side street that runs along the park parallel to the walkway path) and just an influx of more than tolerable weirdos & hoodlum punks with nothing better to do than look for victims to harass and/or steal from. But with that aside, as long as you're there in the daylight hours and with several people like for a party or BBQ get together, it's not all that bad of a...
