Took the family on a long tent-camping weekend at Stockton State Park. We chose the East Campground for our weekend and could not be more pleased with literally EVERYTHING about our stay. The campground was so well maintained, from the pristine mowing and trim job to the sparkling, clean bathrooms and showers. Plenty of paths to get down to the water for some fun bank fishing with the kids. Totally family friendly! They even had a live music show and complimentary burgers and hot dogs at the entrance to the camp ground. Pam and the whole crew at this park put a LOT of love and care into their jobs, and it shows. Highly, highly recommend this park and camp ground. We will be back!
The marina crew deserves a mention as well. We rented a pontoon to do some tubing on Saturday. We found a nice, quiet cove to park in for some fishing, while we waited for the day to warm up enough to get in the water. As we were getting ready to leave the cove, the boat wouldn't start. Luckily, cell phone coverage is decent and we were able to contact the marina. They promptly brought us another pontoon and transferred us and our gear to the new boat, and sent us on our way to an amazing day on this beautiful lake. Shout out to Derek and Kevin who made that happen!
10/10 would recommend this lake and campground...
Read moreI accidentally hit the wrong button and reserved a campsite that is a walk in, that's a long walk. Me and my daughter can't do that. I called them in loke 1 minute and told them I hit the wrong site and wanted to transfer to the one I actually wanted. They couldn't transfer it due to same day. I paid 28 bucks. Since I had to cancel it to try for one I could get to, I got back 3 dollars!....I paid 25 bucks to reserve a spot for less than 5 minutes all cause of their shotty website. Never making that mistake again!!!! As a single mother, that's just absolutely ridiculous! Shame on you Stockton Lake State Park. Update They did contact me at a later date and refunded me the full amount. I still will not be going there or recommending it. It was an...
Read moreOur trip to Stockton State Park was Thursday April 30th for 2 days and 1 night. We stayed in the camper cabins at the campgrounds. We met a friend with a boat and fished both days. The campgrounds, camper cabin, and bathhouse were all in great shape. I think the camper cabins are a little pricey, but they are nice solid structures with electricity, a small refrigerator, a microwave, bedroom, living area with a table and a futon. The cabin had a covered porch, a fire ring, and a picnic table. The bathhouse was about 130 yards from our camper cabin. The boat ramp (37°36'19"N 93°45'11"W) area was also well cared for with many fixtures with a fresh...
