Virginia lake is located within the White Mountain National Forest in the town of Stoneham. The outflow is Bartlett brook which flows into nearby Keewaydin lake. Looking across the frozen lake is Cecil Mountain. The area is designated wilderness with the exception of the seasonal road in only foot traffic is welcomed. #CapCut #nationalforest #winter #offthebeatenpath #snow #winterhike #explore #maine #outdoors #mountain #snowcoveredtrees #coldbutbeautiful #fyp #fypage

Wife and I go Kayaking here several times a year. Beautiful peaceful spot. I think this is a hidden gem in the WMNF. Water is crystal clear. Only one house on the lake. Not sure about the comments about the home owners. We have never had an issue with them as we have kayaked by them numerous times each summer. Not to get on the moral high horse but I find if you respect others privacy, keep proper distance, and don't trespass on private property you will never have an issue with a land owner in the state of Maine. Also, leeches are an integral part the ecosystem in fresh water ponds and lakes. Don't be surprised if you come out of the water with a few of them on you...

My friends and I took a trip down to the lake. We visited the beach and we were very disappointed. We found a dead moose, creating a deathly stench. We tried going to a different spot on the lake and could still smell the moose. My friends and I all got at least 4 ticks one of my friends that was there with us ended up getting Lyme disease. We also noticed a significant amount of bacteria in the water not sure if you should be swimming in this. I hope you take this time out of your day I realize why you shouldn’t be going to this lake because it is a...

This summer my family and I took a day trip to Virginia lake. We went to the beach on the lake and all get leeches. We kayaked across the lake and saw there was a beaver dam. We are very concerned about Giardia due to the beavers being there. There were very loud dogs and very rude homeowners. You were looking for a peaceful quiet and nice place this is not the...
