The Hounds — Attraction in Stonington

As an East Coast wedding photographer with a passion for capturing refined, elevated, and graceful imagery, I'm always searching for venues that offer something truly special. The Hounds of Stonington in Connecticut is exactly that. It is a venue that feels like a beautiful secret, tucked away just off the road. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear this is a place made for unforgettable, timeless celebrations.

What struck me immediately is how private and stunning the space feels. Once you park and step through the side entrance, you’re greeted by a jaw-dropping view of the ceremony location. The white aisle, paired with sweeping views and manicured grounds, creates a setting that is both romantic and graceful. It’s truly one of my favorite ceremony spots of all time!

After, the patio space is perfect for a relaxed yet elegant cocktail hour, and the interior of the venue is equally impressive. It is clean, classic, and easily customizable for each couple’s vision. It is also really easy to drive down to Stonington's beach to take photos by the water while guests mingle before dinner. This place is truly a gem and I can’t wait to return to more weddings...

We got married on June 14th, 2025 at The Hounds and we could not be happier with our experience! It’s a smaller venue but was perfect for our size wedding (85 guests) and had a homey feel to it. The bridal suite could not have been more perfect as you get a kitchen and full bathroom in it. Every vendor we used was just as amazed as we were. We unfortunately had slight rain on our wedding day and had to change the ceremony spot last minute. I thought that that may add more stress to the day, but our caterer and the venue handled EVERYTHING for me to the point where I barely even knew about the issue. I highly suggest using The Hounds and if you do, look into Dog Watch Catering as they both worked AMAZINGLY together. Still to this day, we feel close with the venue and its staff and cannot wait...

The Hounds was the perfect location to host our end of September wedding. From the bridal suite and groom's room, the reception room and bar, to the outside terrace, and gorgeous ceremony lawns surrounded by the nature preserve, everything was amazing. We loved how the coastal elements were lightly sprinkled in around the property. The owners, Gleanna and Clay were so nice and they have truly done an amazing renovation on the entire space. All of our guests commented on how beautiful and intimate the venue was and how convenient it was having everything in one place.
