In the past, this was the nicest mini golf course my family could find anywhere in the area. So we would take the kids and also the grandparents for a great family outing. Well, now my wife and I are the grandparents. And we are taking our kids kids to the same mini golf place and it is still the nicest course anywhere around. Literally for 3 decades this place has been a favorite of my family. 3 decades!! And as the prize winning landscaping continues to mature and expand the place only looks better and better and better. This is family owned for a couple generations and family cared for and maintained. And the pride surely shows. There are 2 courses for varied abilities. The kids will have a ball - and more fun when no one keeps score. The adults will think they are getting a sneak peek at Longwood Gardens. There is plenty of shade in case you get a hot day. Restrooms are clean. Snack Shop handles hunger and thirst. Disinfectant cleans all clubs as soon as your party turns them back in. And get this - if (when) you or the kids make a bad shot, and your ball goes into the shrubs or the water - not to worry. There are plenty of places along the way with boxes of extra balls. Just select one and keep playing. I never saw that before anywhere else. The quick fix cures youngster tears when they can't find their ball. If you are ready for a family outing, or a date, or a mini golf challenge, start here at the very best course. You'll keep coming back, as our family has done......
Read moreThis is by far the best mini golf course I have ever played on in my life. The Gold Course is 23 absolutely gorgeous holes that take you down the side of a large hill to a man-made pond complete with waterfall, bridges, and streams throughout. It felt as if I were golfing at Longwood Gardens because the groundskeepers take such immaculate care of each and every inch of the property, which is covered in flowers galore and huge 50+ year old trees. Word of caution there are a lot of steps (not wheelchair accessible) both down and back up, but for those who are willing and able to traverse them it is well worth the endeavor. There conveniently is a bathroom house (very clean) half way down/back for those who may need it. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed it so much we stayed to play the Orange Course which I would consider the animated course with moving parts at at least half of the holes. Both courses would be enjoyable for even the most experienced golfer. There is also a small snack bar that serves minor eats, drinks, and a really darn good milkshake. Would highly recommend this family run establishment to anyone even if you're just passing...
Read moreThe gold course is a beautiful, challenging, and long course set in the backdrop of a wooded area with lots of trees and plants lining the walkway. There's a lot of shade for the summer. There's also 23 holes that might want to make you give up long before. You'll definitely get the bang for your buck here.
Unfortunately - and this is not a critique of the business so much as the other players - there was a huge group playing together in front of us. Around 10 players together and not following the course rules or playing the game at all. Kids were taking multiple shots and genuinely, I am for this any other time. However, this backed up seven different groups behind them for over 15 on one hole. What usually takes an hour to play a game turned into two hours because of this. Again, I realize there's barely anything the employees can do once a group is on the course so I am not holding it against them. It's more so a PSA.
PSA: if you have a slow or big group, please be courteous to smaller groups or faster players behind you and let...
