Must see for locals and tourists alike! Star in the Valley is a contemporary, up-scale wine tasting room where you can come as you are and bring the whole family. There is a beautiful indoor tasting room with picturesque windows allowing you to take in all the valley views. And there is ample outdoor patio space for lil ones to run around while mommy sips her "mom juice" ;) They just extended hours for Thurs-Sat and are offering some special star gazing events coming up! While they don't serve food, you are more than welcome to bring your own so pack up dinner and head on over to enjoy some award-winning wine. This summer they have a frozen sangria pouch that is heavenly and I highly recommend! I drive all the way from Florida and make sure to include this as a stopping place because their Cab Franc and vibes are unmatched. If I was local, I would be grabbing all the girlies for a BYOC (bring your own charcuterie) and sipping some wine on the patio! Promise you will enjoy your time here as the workers are so sweet.

TLDR: Well executed wines in a picturesque atmosphere. Come for the Cab Franc and dry rose. Vibe: 5/5. Nestled on the top of a hill overlooking the grape hedgerows, Star in the Valley's tasting room is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a glass or 2. Ample seating for all group sizes, we came on a Saturday afternoon and had no problem grabbing a table. Service: 5/5. The staff operating the tasting room we're great! Very helpful in offering recommendations and giving us a brief background story of the vineyard. Wine: 5/5. I have always held mixed feelings for Virginia wine, however Star in the Valley's offerings were decent. We opted to do 2 wine flights which allowed us to try their entire wine portfolio. Highlights from the tasting we're the Cab Franc, Chardonel and the dry rose. All in all, fun wines and an even better atmosphere!

This is an outstanding local winery based on the exceptional white and red offering and vista views. The owner and winemaker, Shane, has created a wonderful mix of offerings to enjoy at their very pictureque winery with gorgeous mountain views. Our hostess, Jean, was wonderful and did a great job explaining the wines and the history here. We came away with a case of wines and will definitely be back again for our annual visit to the area as we head to V-Tech to see our grandaughter. I'll add that you will forget the drive along the bumpy gravel road after three glasses of wine!!

My wife and I have visited many wineries in Virginia and Star in the Valley is at the top of our list. The Wines are all excellent and are moderately priced. The views from this hidden gem are exceptional and one can see why star gazing is one of their planned events. For us, the real Star of this winery was our hostess, Mady. She was one of the most knowledgeable, gracious and engaging young Ladies that both my wife and I have ever met. Mady made our first experience at Star in the Valley a memorable experience. We plan on bringing many of our friends along on future visits to Star in the Valley and to meet Mady as well. This has become one of our Go...
