Grout pond has held a special place in my heart since childhood. The body of water itself has always been enjoyable, it's a quick paddel as the pond is not big. The stillness of the surrounding area is immensely relaxing. Fishing can be decent depending on time of year and what your casting. Ever present loons cap off the serenity of the pond. The camping at this pond has been the big draw for me and my family. It has sadly fallen into terrible disrepair. The campsites are seemingly no longer maintained and many of them are flat out unusable. The tent platforms at many of the sites are rotten through and an outright hazard, especially for children. It has within the last few years become a pay to use site makeing the condition of the area all the more bewildering. It was better maintained as a suggested donation recreational area.
