Chastain Beach, also known as Surfer's Beach or "The Rocks," lies on the southern tip of Hutchinson Island near Stuart. Its a beautiful and semi-secluded beach. Not many people on the north section on past the coral rock and main beach access . We stumbled on this beach a couple years ago and make a point to return every time we visit the sunshine state. As you drive down SE MacArthur Blvd, Chastain Beach has two parking lots, a white sandy one on your right and one on your left with a small blue sign that says "Unguarded Beach." It is the second last beach parking lot on SE MacArthur Blvd when traveling south. Get there early as parking is very limited which is why there's very little people due to the limited parking space. Its a hidden gem!!

Amazing beach that my family happened upon when returning from the disappointing realization that Bathtub Beach was closed. It has a teeny tiny parking lot (with more parking across the street) and the times we’ve been there wasn’t very many people. I’ve lived in Florida for over 15 years and I never knew there were beaches with rock formations such as what you find there. I love how when at high tide the waves splash off the side of the rocks and create a “Little Mermaid Ariel singing on the rock” effect. There’s also seashells to collect, although not as many as say, Sanibel. Enough to make my kids happy though. A vacation spot not far from home!

This is a surfers paradise. In fact, everyone there was a surfer. The atmosphere was awesome. They were all chilling on the boardwalk and watching their friends surfing these tremendous waves. It was a cool thing to see. The rocks created plumes when the hard waves would crash into them and there were plenty of shells to be found. Not a lot of parking but if you’re visiting Hutchinson island you should check it out.

This has been my wife's and my favorite Beach for years. Heck, I was going here as a teenager when I served. We set up our beach chairs and stick an umbrella in the ground and think we've died and gone to heaven. More recently there's a handful of younger people who like to smoke pot under the stairs. They're not threatening. It's just a little annoying. But it does not change the fact that this is the best beach in Martin county by a long stretch. It doesn't feel like a Florida beach. The way the rocks are positioned to the left and right it just feels like you're in California or in the virgin islands. Love it...
