Great place to take your little ones. It has a lot to offer for kids with disabilities and sensory processing disorders that you wouldnāt find at a typical play park. Thereās lots of hands on equipment for touch and sound sensations, spinning and twirling equipment, seesaws, climbing opportunities, slides of all sizes, swings that accommodate children who need assistance with their parent, and letās not forget the soft foam ground. Thereās also a slide that is made of rollers so when the child goes down they can feel the rollers underneath. Makes for a slightly bumpy ride down. Although its not as huge as city park and not as crowded it makes for a perfect play date for kids, to exercise or to just relax. It also has a fishing pier that makes for beautiful sunset photos, plus thereās plenty of wide open space to toss or kick a ball or just run around, picnic areas and I think I even saw small golf grass pads set throughout the back of the park. Very fun park for younger kids. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience is based on disc golf and tennis with my kids. The disc golf course, as much as I love it, it's more of a Stockholm Syndrome type love. If there was any other course within a reasonable drive from me I would never go to Bennet's Creek Park again. I've actually put three baskets in my own yard to avoid going there. If I'm actually objective about it I would have to say it's a poorly maintained and unthoughtfully designed snake pit that is far too dangerous for kids and too difficult for most amateur players to enjoy. People literally get bit by snakes there and the city of Suffolk doesn't even warn people.
The tennis courts are cracked, faded, and weed infested with the practice backboard destroyed. It's generally abandoned. It's funny how Suffolk ignores its downtown, puts all its money in Northern Suffolk, but the only nice tennis courts are downtown. Another sign of their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here from Newport News to see the drive in movie. It was a very nice park. The wash sinks where nice to see. Volley ball court and skate park where a surprise. Very nice playground. Now to the drive in. I am from the north where we had drive in movies so when I heard about this I had to bring my daughter. A drive in would never ever allow trucks and SUVs to park in the front. So any one in a car had trouble seeing. Then when it was time to leave you blocked the entrance we came in and sent everyone to the back. You then had guys somewhat thinking they knew how to direct traffic but jumping infront of moving cars without any type of safety vest ,lights or reflectors. What are you thinking serious are you trying to get some one hurt. Cute idea but not...
