LOVE this park! Lots of great memories here from my very early childhood. Soending time with my dad. Taking pictures and him flying a drone. Taking more pictures. I get that from Him. My dad. I get a lot more of my character, personality, and overall demeanor from Him. I miss him so much! I also have a father inlaw who chose to take his own life and jump from this bridge in Jan. Of 2018 1278 give or take for the leap year days since it happened. They are both missed by me everyday. For different reasons. Both were Huge Hearted and Kind People. They LOVED people they truly lived life! Some things good some things bad. But Mostly GOOD for SURE! They believed in kindness and helping people. They raised great kids who wanted for nothing. Some would say Very fortunate and spoiled. They were Blessings in My Life. PEACEMAKERS. They did stuff most people can't, won't, and don't do. Especially for their families! Anything for Family! They are greatly missed and loved and my wish and hope is for closure in my father inlaw's death. For His Family and Friends. RIP Ralph S.Gray David George Stillwell. Until We meet again. We will continue to miss and LOVE You both and Celebrate Your lives. The legacy you have left behind is truly Amazing!
An active missing person's case is on file for David George Stillwell. Please pray for Our Family. Thank You for Your Time.
Enjoy this place the park. The views. The bench. The power of the water. The peacefulness. The wonderful photos you can take. The time spent with family and/or with friends.
1st annual picnic was held here by You Matter StillSkies Jason Stillwell. Also Mark Stillwell too and other Family and Friends. I could not attend. Something kept me from there that day. Maybe sadness. I had every intention to go to.
Please Pray for Closure in this case also for everyone affected by it. God Bless Us All and Keep Us Safe Loved Always and may we keep Him in our hearts.
Thanks to the City of Sugar Creek, The Police officers and detectives, assigned to this case. I saw the vehicle on the side road that they parked it on for Mark and I to pick up. I know the placement of the vehicle on the bridge and the note and stuff left inside. I remember the call at 7:36am. Approx. Waking me up out of a dead sleep. Calling to wake me up so Mark could come get me to pick up the vehicle. He was and is always calm. He was in shock and disbelief too. Not understanding what truly happened. He did not tell me on the phone. He got home and picked me up. We went and got the vehicle. Telling me and showing me stuff on the way. Still Always Calm. He's An Angel for me, his Family, and lots of Friends. Great Person inside and outside. That day was a Very Hard Day. Calling Family, not truly knowing anything. Not Believing. Knowing. Lots of feelings. Crying and Emotions.
Jan. 10th 2018. Active missing person case. If you see anything please report it. This family needs closure. I keep Praying for it too. I really don't believe they will get it.
Have a good day! Be kind to people. You never truly know what someone is going through. You Matter! Your life Matters!
God Bless Us All in Jesus Name! And they...
Read moreThis Park is always going to bring me back. They keep it very well kept. There are well placed trash cans that are, as I've seen, rarely to never overflowing. The grass is kept neat, the playground nice and safe for the kids as well as functioning. The picnic area is clean, well cared for, and bug and rodent free, as can be for outdoors. The parking spots are clean, clear, debris free and double wide as well as spread far enough apart to give you privacy. At the entrance, you come in a ways then on the right there is a newly added frisbee golf course set up. This is also a pull off where prior to the addition of the frisbee golf, they would fly remote control planes etc. Which it appears to still be able to do. From there you top the tiny hill to emerge into the large Parking Lot on the right. This is where the Shelter for Picnic Gatherings is as well as the Playground. Further right the expanse beyond the playground runs parallel to the hill you had just passed. Just beyond the Shelter House are the Restrooms. If you continue rather than entering the parking lot, you will choose one of two options. First option Boat Ramp. Second option.. the main road into the remainder of the Park. On the Left there is a Bench Swing so you can watch the River roll by. On the Left is the Missouri River, on the Right is the Hill. The Parking Spots are only on the River side. B The end is a loop. Not a Cul-de-sac, there's a huge grass patch in the middle. Also there are trails at the end...
Read moreI got there a little before noon and there were only a handful of cars. Mostly people were sitting around fishing. I took my dog and we followed the trail that went East along the river. The trail itself was really nice and clean. It has been raining the last few days before today, and the ground is wet, but we didn't get muddy at all - the ground is packed pretty tight on the trail. The trail is usually wide enough for 2 people to walk comfortably side by side.
I wasn't really sure if the trail ends or not. I'm sure there is a map somewhere. Almost 2 miles down (according to my phone's tracker) the trail kind of fizzled out into grass covered paths that didn't look like the rest of the path. We were tired by that point anyway, so we turned around without investigating. If not for the 2 barges going up and down the river the whole time, it would have been super quiet aside from the birds.
We ran into nobody 2 miles down the trail and back, until the last 10 minutes as we approached the parking lot again. A little after 1pm the place seems to...
