UPDATE- 01/04/2021- My oil painting was received much to my surprise today and I was shocked to find out that it was delivered via UPS. Oddly the painting was addressed to my middle name when I had previously notified Kathleen that they were referencing my middle name instead of my actual (first) name (that I do go by). I also recall the conversation that I had with Kathleen during the initial purchase and she said we use a “shipper”, as I was under the assumption it would have been sent another method with better “care.” I guess it was my ignorance for not prompting for further clarification. Had I known the painting was being sent via UPS or FEDEX, I would have hand carried it out of the gallery. This was my first artwork purchase and I am disappointed that the original, oil painting was sent via the method it was, with no prior notification sent to me that the item was being shipped and/or the tracking number given...I think I would have spent my money elsewhere.

I fell in love with an original oil painting by local artist, Douglas Grier. He captures in his artwork the beautiful scenery around the Charleston area and it is so detailed, it makes you feel like you are standing there in the scene itself. The painting I chose, just draws you in (and depending on what the lighting is when you are looking at the painting) the colors in the sky look different from varying angles. You are given the option to hand carry your artwork purchase and/or have it shipped. There is also handmade jewelry, ornaments and other great finds sold. Shop local and support...
Read moreI visited the Sandpiper gallery this month on a vacation from California and had no intention of purchasing a piece of artwork...until I saw this beautiful carved mermaid. I was charmed and then saw the artist’s name, Jo Watson and my daughter's last name is Watson and my two granddaughter's names begin with a J. So, it was destiny that I adopt her and name her JoJo after the artist and my granddaughters. She arrived today and the packing was unbelievable; she was wrapped like an Egyptian mummy inside a Styrofoam box inside of a cardboard box with insulation. Thank you, Kathleen, for helping with the purchase at the...
