Station 23 - Public Beach Access — Attraction in Sullivan's Island

The beach was wonderful! The $50 parking ticket was not. I was hugging up to the untrimmed bushes that lined the street, scratching my arms and legs getting in and out of the car. My car was closer in than others. We were lucky to get the spot we did after driving around quite awhile. No signs were posted on the street. My daughter got a ticket too. They're for "tires on pavement." There is no parking lot at Sullivan's Island. We enjoyed Folly Beach and Isle of Palms, where we could pay to park and not deal with this. Felt like thievery....

Enjoyed looking at the gorgeous houses here. The beach access was disappointing, as there was a miles-long sandbar filled with water blocking us from getting to the waves. We only wanted to put our feet in the water, as we had our clothes on and couldn't swim or wade through the filled area. I'd give it another...

Dogs are NOT permitted until after 6pm despite what other reviews say…. Sign also says need a permit for dogs??? Didn’t know about that either so drive 45 min for nothing. Also car ahead of me got a ticket because his tire was “touching the road”. So watch out...
