Station 28 1/2 - - Public Beach Access — Attraction in Sullivan's Island

Beautiful, uncrowded, and only a short walk from the road which is convenient with small children and/or gear in tow. Large shoals along this stretch of Sullivan’s Island provide ample shallows perfect for safe, family-friendly swimming and kids of all ages! This beach is popular with the kitesurfers obviously, so it can get very gusty, and they can get close at times. We were blessed with several dolphin sightings, lots of hermit crabs, I almost stepped on a stingray (watch your step!), and there was even a Loggerhead turtle nesting area at the base of the dunes (do not disturb!). STREET PARKING NOTE: we were issued a $50 citation for ‘wheels on pavement’ which is cleared marked with signage, but it was our first day in town so...

Beautiful and quiet beach. Most stunning nature beach in Charleston. I try to come very early in the morning before 10 am to find car parking.

There aren’t really big parking lots on Sullivan’s, but all street parking is free and you can park in the street parking spots for as long as you plan to be there.

I would say if you arrive after 10 am on a weekend day it may be hard to find a spot, so I’d say either plan to get there early, or go later in the day after some people may have already finished...

Nice beach access location with a bike rack for storing and locking up your bike. Limited street parking and no parking lot. The walking path leads to the beach area, but currently you might have to walk around because the beach is very narrow and a body of water to the main shoreline- possibly due to storms. A good place to stop and take a walk on the beach a little further down from where it is...
