Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church — Attraction in Sullivan's Island

I have been a member of Stella Maris for at least 50 years as well as my brother and 4 sister's Kevin, Kathy, Jennifer, Denise, along with our youngest sister Janet who was buried from here at the young age of 33 taking her unborn son with her. The church has gone through a couple of renovations over the years, but the ambiance and spirituality has never changed. It has seen many wonderful priest's over the years but, Monsenior McInerny is the most wonderful disciple of the lord in my 50+ years in being part of this parish. While walking on the beach we noticed the tower of this church with a statue atop it, so we drove over to check it out. It was a weekday afternoon and there wasn't anything going on but the church was open. We went in and were surprised how nice it was inside. Stella Maris is sweet little Catholic Cburch in the end of Sullivan's Island, SC right next to Fort Moultrie. Stella Mary Church is one of the oldest Catholic church in Charleston. It is beautiful indeed and out. The look of this little church it is pure nostalgia, principally when the bells are ringing.
