It's really sad how downhill the park has went. You can no longer climb the observation tower as the bottom set of steps has been removed. One of the two bridges to islands is not safe enough to cross. Once you cross the one that is barely passable, the island has been very neglected and overgrown. It's a great place to stretch your legs, however, and there's an abundance of wildflowers in spring and fall! Butterflies everywhere, and catch and release fishing. Always plenty of geese and other fowl to observe. It's a shame, because this is a beautiful and quiet gem that just needs...
   Read moreIts never taken care of. Its always trashed people dont know how to pick up. Go fishing and you see fish dead there that ate something that want suppose to be. Who ever owns it needs to be more on top of the game then what they are. That place can be pretty if it was taken care of right. If i have to i will go mow it for them. Thats ridiculous having to basically walk threw weeds that come up to your knees. It needs to be better taken care of. I dont go there anymore because its disgusting. People are usuing it as a dump site for there...

There is a new bridge to the "island" but it doesn't really go anywhere yet, just a patch full of poison ivy, so beware if you venture across!! Not many birds again, although we did see Canada Geese and some distant ducks and a Great Blue Heron.. Also saw a Woods Frog. Easy hiking, beautiful flowers and trees. The day we visited there were very few birds of any kind including waterfowl. We wondered if the adjacent logging...
