The best memories are made here. Perfect for family, friends, kids and pets, but if you bring your pets on a hot day remember if the ground will burn your feet then it will burn theirs, bring a water bowl and let them cool down because they are in a fur coat. Also if they don’t like water or aren’t friendly then just leave them at home because they will just be hot and miserable and there is always other animals.

We had a great time canoeing on the Huzzah. The water had a nice current to it, unlike the Courtois, and the people were all very friendly on the water. We were able to take out close to the end and watch the parade of boats coming in for over an hour. Truly a great day of people watching. Lots of gravel bars and plenty of space to navigate around the rafts.

Went to the public outdoor shooting range. It was empty so we were able to sling some lead unencumbered. Mowed areas, concrete shooting tables, and chicken wire to attach your targets. I recommend bringing clothespins to assist with target hanging. Some litter from previous shooters to include beer bottles, spent brass and shells. Over all, a nice outdoor area to let your preferred weapon show you what it can do. Cell phone reception is non existent so be mindful and get directions before starting out. Roadway to the range has potholes and some washboard areas so use caution but it's not a...

Huzzah Conservation is a very nice place. It is not easy to get to. The roads are often gravel and there are lots of pot holes. There is no potable water except from the creek. There are only two pit tiolets and it is good policy to bring your own TP, just in case. HOWEVER, the camp sites were recently mowed, and the pit toilets are well constructed and well maintained. There is a public shooting range, and it was also well maintained. The site has trees, creek, interesting geography, and is well maintained. If you want a nice place to have a nice day, this is a...
