Lake Sulphur Springs — Attraction in Sulphur Springs

It's a quiet little lake with plenty of public land around the north end where the two boat ramps and a dam are located. The sheriff and local police department were cool about me camping the night and my friend staying in his car, for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th.

The lake has brown water unfortunately. Likely due to the soil & sediment. But it doesn't smell bad or anything. I believe it's swimmable, and of course people take boats on it.

Friendly locals walking their dog said they even camp on the lake bed itself when the water is low. I stayed in the field next to the 2nd boat ramp...

Directions took us on a very narrow road, 4703, to a dead end area where the road was washed out......never made it...

It's a local like that has Fair fishing good boat ramps open space well taken...
