This is not an easy-peasy hike. Wear actual hiking boots and bring along the water and snacks! I wore sneakers and definitely regretted that almost immediately! There are loose rocks all along the trail (flat part) so you end up staring at your feet to stay safe. If I wore my boots, I could have just moshed right through, and my feet/legs wouldn't have gotten so sore. It's kinda like skiing on large rocks and trying to not fall. It was fine but today my shins and feet are quite sore. Boots are key. Bring all the stuff you might need because this hike will take much longer than you think and it's more rugged. Absolutely breathtaking views and stunning surroundings! Bring the camera! Some other hikers mentioned they were looking for the 'baby burrows' as this is the season, so keep your eyes open (but don't trip over rocks) and enjoy this! Next time I will be ready for this adventure, properly!! Have a...

The trail is quite easy leading back to the mountains, there's even a wheelchair access gate. Once you get into the mountains, it can get a little trickier but not hard.
In the fall, you can find a small creek and sometimes even a waterfall. Depending on the snow level up high in the winter. Small desert rodents and lizards are very common. I've seen coyotes a few times, but they stay far away, but I'd still keep an eye out if you have small dogs.
Not recommend in the height of summer as the trail takes about 30 to 45 min out in the open until you're in the shade of the mountains and it get extremely hot. Always take plenty of water no matter...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe early part of the trail (from car to mountain base) is pretty flat so you might not realize the distance youāve journeyed until you wish you brought more water. Once you get to the mountain base & shade, itās a nice reprieve. Dogs love it, and thereās plenty that venture this trail. Lots of trailheads and rock balancing. On Sundays, thereās a group that gathers just before the first sign to play drums and chill. It makes for nice acoustics. Just wish there was a bit more information available about the hike⦠Iāve been here 3 times and havenāt made it to the creek yet⦠not by fault of the trail; Iām a rebellious, off-coursing beginner that gets worn out faster than Iād like and I can never seem to bring...
