We found an abandoned puppy at Peck Ranch on the Ozark Trail!! #ozarktrail #missouri #trailpuppy

Very cool experience. Gorgeous scenery, especially up on the ridges. I needed 4 wheel drive-not sure I could have gotten up the ridgelines without it because of the gravel. I saw a couple dozen elk, deer, wild turkey, and an armadillo. Clean pit toilets in 2 different locations. Very quiet and way off the beaten path. If you delight in the journey as well as the destination, this is a great stop! The drive out was fun, the conservation area itself had breathtaking scenery & lots of animals, and it was free!

No guarantee you'll see Missouri Wild Elk but we had a fantastic visit to Peck Ranch seeing Wildlife on the Driving Tour. The Beauty of the landscape and opportunity to see the start of something tremendous for Missouri...Elk back roaming Missouri. Hats Off to the Staff and the work they do and have done to provide an opportunity.

I drove 2 hours from Springfield, with my girlfriend and 2 tiny little dachshund mixes ( very well behaved, training them on long trips) to find out you had the auto tour closed. Nothing online stated that. I realize it's free to the public( still our taxes ) but a simple notice on Facebook or the mdc website....we all wanna come back soon. Please post your emergency shutdowns. If we could make donations to this specific place, I'd be willing to pay. Anyways. I'm still gonna come back and enjoy the scenery. Throw in a picnic table or 2 and fence it off, like at a lake. I'd take many picnic lunches there to see the elk.

Oh. Another idea. Post more signs of local flora and fauna. It'd give the auto tour time to sit and...

Went through the park for a "quick" drive through to see Elk, and ended up there for 3 hours because nearly every road was closed off! Every time we would take a different road, it would be closed. The map is only effective if the roads are actually passable! Saw several elk though, which was the plan, just not over a...
