This is the most contaminated site in the United States. The ground water is extremely contaminated, and I'm pretty sure the whole area has a high radiation reading. I'm sure it's not worse than what they are really telling you... I mean, you probably couldn't use equipment to see for yourself... besides, when would the government or media ever lie and deceive the public... but anyway, anyone downwind may have health problems, like cancer. I wonder if spokane has the highest cancer rate in the country for big cities...? I also wonder why there are so many fruit orchards "directly" around a ""highly contaminated"" nuclear site. You probably can't tell using the satellite filter on Google maps that the whole area is low lands all the way to Moses Lake and that the orchards are directly around Hanford... I'm sure they probably didn't start the "Columbia River Reclamation Project" as a way to try and solve this ground water problem, i mean, who would come up with that crazy idea... Besides, you can only find nuclear contamination for several miles past Hanford in the river, that's not to far. I'm sure it's a great place to bring your children and pets to play. It's not like you're going to see nuclear radiation oozing out of the ground... i wonder if any of the baby food makers own lots and lots of farms here... I don't know, but make sure to eat your Washington Columbia River Basin grown fruit and hops. Just remember, always do what you're told and don't think for yourself. It's dangerous. Just take your shots, plus the boosters, and keep voting Democrat... Men can get pregnant and never do your own fact finding, just watch "the view" for your opinion... you don't want to be a crazy conspiracy...
Read moreIt's a beautiful spot with amazing geology features. Each layer of the White Bluffs is a silty sediment that settled each time the ice age floods rushed into this area and got plugged up at the Wallula Gap. The sediment settled as the water began to recede. There is quite a few layers, if I remember right somewhere around 30 to 40. That means the floods came as many times. If interested in the floods as they are an amazing geological event that happened in this area, get the book, On the Trail of the Ice Age Floods. It's a very cool book that has all the info and illistrations that you'd need to explore and understand the cool geological features here in...
Read moreTake the 24 East until you see the brown sign for White Bluffs... Maybe about 15 minutes past the locked gated entrance that shows up on Google. This is my 3rd attempt at finding this site over a span of a few years and this time I decided to keep driving. The directions are extremely misleading and really upsetting, using both Google Maps and Apple Maps. No bathrooms, no shade, but well kept. Prayers to all families, people, and lands who were impacted by the radiation and ignorance of man. Beautiful but tragic. Reader boards aren't honest enough about the immeasurable damage sites like...
