This spot allows a view of the strip skyline. Its just at the edge of eastern LV, before heading to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It was a quiet Sunday morning, and we stopped before heading to LMNRA. The pullout was littered with broken glass and bottle caps, bad for tires. The view was nice, but the garbage strewn desert here is very sad. From where this photo was taken, just after Hwy. 147 leaves the city, it is 14-miles to the Strip. It's probably best viewed at night, but we were here in the morning. Not sure I'd wanted to be here after dark. that and the garbage there...

Definitely not a place for picnic, but a great place for dating etc. However, since the position is at the state roadside, there could be a lot of speedy vehicles with dazzling head light passed by. Try to find somewhere a bit further from the main road if you want to enjoy the pulse of Vegas at night. Also remember to take all your rubbish away as a courtesy to the environment, others as well...

We parked and walked up the hill to the overlook, but honestly you don't have to. A beautiful view can be had from the car. Other reviewers were right about the broken glass around the parking area.
