We camped at East Lake Campground for two nights. The sites are fairly large, but not very many trees to make them private. Some sites have beautiful lake views. Ours was a partial view. We had nice weather but the overnight low was cold! You can walk to the resort. It is a one mile walk, so two miles roundtrip back to the campground. There is a shoreline trail. We went to the East Lake Resort and had some draft beers and a snack. Very good! We also attended the Hunter Noack "In a Landscape" classical piano music concert. ย ย ย Read moreEast Lake is amazing. The fishing and camping make for a perfect getaway from the heat. Kayaking, SUP and walking along the lake shore is perfect too. It is very popular, so you have to make reservations early. However, the Cinder Hill Campground has many first come, first served campsites, so you could get lucky there. But just coming up for a day trip is totally worth it.
A big shout out to the Blue Duck Cafe at the East Lake Lodge. The food, service and venue is great. Ask for the server Anika.
