This dog park, quite frankly is amazing. Starting off with the ground being full of wood chips that are refreshed each year. This makes it so a muddy pup is something that isn't something you have to worry about as much. Then you got a great cover of trees, so during those hot days you can sit in the shade, on many of the benches and tables they have provided. There are obstacles for the dogs to climb on, like logs and hills; as well as bowls and toys throughout the grounds. Great location, not too far out of town and next to hiking trails which is convenient in case your dog gets too overwhelmed in the park. People are very good about cleaning up after their dog, and have brought water bowls and toys. The entrance is icy and someone even put down sand. I just wish that the city would tend to the park more, as the poop bags have been out for a while and the trash bin is starting to get full. Today, however, a man was there with two dogs (one St. Bernard and the other a mid size herding dog), that consistently chased and bit my dog aggressively the 2 minutes we were there. They never let up on my 40 pound friendly dog. I left immediately as that’s not what we are there for. However, I don’t think I should have been the one to leave. Mean dogs and dogs that bite constantly should not be in this public place. I hope to not encounter them or anyone...
