Blustone Vineyard is our absolute favorite winery in the area! We are Blustone Club members (now living in Houston, TX) and visit here every time we're back in MI. We love to come during all seasons of the year- and truly have the hardest time picking our favorite wine because they are all SO good!
When we began thinking about where we wanted to have our wedding this summer.. It was no question that Blustone would be our first choice! We decided to get married at Blustone this summer and it was the absolute best wedding we could have ever imagined! We knew the day would be perfect and were excited to show our guests (many of whom had never been to MI) our favorite place!
Firstly, Ben and his staff outdid themselves with their hospitality (not surprised because we always have incredible service when we visit) but our guests doted this afterwards multiple times, making sure to mention that the staff went above and beyond for our event.
Secondly, the views!!! Inside, the modern building itself is, simple, clean, elegant, and light filled which made for a great cocktail hour post ceremony. Our guests loved going up to the counter to order our suggested favorites, but were also allowed and encouraged to enjoy tasting other wines and ciders that Blustone offers. This was a huge hit with our guests! Many guests even bought wine to take back to TX with them!
Outside the green vines speak for themselves! Simply stunning, with rolling hills for miles with nothing else insight. Sitting a little up off the main road makes Bluestone feel secluded, giving you that "napa/sonoma" feeling that again- many of our guests mentioned experiencing during their visit.
Lastly, it was personal and special to have the entire vineyard to ourselves on our wedding day with all our favorite people. The weather was amazing for a July outdoor wedding and the sunset/dusk at night was just the cherry on top.
We will never forget this day, and are already planning our winter and anniversary visits!

Read moreBlustone Vineyards in Lake Leelanau is nothing short of spectacular—a five‑star gem on the Leelanau Peninsula. The modern, hilltop tasting room with its floor‑to‑ceiling windows offers panoramic vineyard views bathed in natural light, and the expansive terrace with fire pits sets the perfect tone for a relaxing, elevated wine experience .
From the moment we walked in, the warm, knowledgeable staff made us feel right at home—servers like Anne and Sherrie provided personalized recommendations that elevated our experience and made us eager to become wine club members . We tried a curated flight of their estate-grown wines, and every pour was outstanding. The 2022 Winemaker’s Red Blend, awarded 92 points and a Gold Medal in April 2025, was deeply complex and elegant, with spice and structure that lingered long after the last sip .
The gourmet charcuterie board and crisp, refreshing apple‑ginger cider paired beautifully with their whites and dessert wines . Whether you’re indulging indoors or enjoying the patio, the ambiance is consistently inviting. Blustone truly lives up to its reputation as the “Napa Valley of the Midwest.”
Five stars without question—a must‑visit winery that combines breathtaking scenery, exceptional hospitality, and...
Read moreThis one is a head scratcher. Normally we really like this winery and have had great experiences. I’ve brought large parties here for years. This time, I had a small party of 6 people and we were treated like an annoyance by the manager. We got caught behind a boat trailer the whole way on M-22 which made us 10min late for our reservation. It felt like the guy was really trying to embarrass us and make an example of us for being late? It’s juvenile and he really embarrassed himself. It was still 50 minutes before closing! And he would not seat us. He said “no exceptions or we would have to do it for everyone”. BTW, we were the only ones in line at the time. We asked if we could order quickly and be sure to be done before closing. Answer was “no”. We got a drink at the bar from a very nice staff member who apologized for her petulant manager. She is the reason this...
