Very cool lighthouse to visit. The residents of Swam Island have done a great job restoring and maintaining the buildings. You can walk inside the main house and get a history of the lighthouse and its keepers, there is a gift shop inside where you can buy items from local artists (they take credit cards), and also there is a bathroom inside. For those looking to stretch their legs there are a couple of hiking trails nearby.

One of the must visit places on Swan island. The light house opens at 11am for tours, and will take about 10-15 minutes to see. The residents and volunteers have done an excellent job in its upkeep, and historical aspects, and is one of the few light houses you can go inside. I wish I could have seen this after the sun set.

Beautiful lighthouse with adjoining keeper’s house (available for short-term rental). The tour of the lighthouse and the brief explanation (thanks Tom!) are a great bonus. Highly recommended.

We highly recommend visiting Burnt Coat Harbor Lighthouse.

My wife and I have visit lighthouses all over the world and we were really looking forward to visit this lighthouse but it was closed for the season.

Tom and Sue happen to be at the lighthouse and they were very kind to let us go up the lighthouse. Tom was very knowledgable and friendly. Sue shared history of...

We went on maine open light house day it was beautiful and a nice tour. Make sure you have a way to get from side of the island to other like a car or bike its over a 4 mile hike from the ferry to get there and if you want to be back to catch the ferry that doesnt leave you much time on foot there's also a very cute little museum too in side the...
