Cheshire Fair — Attraction in Swanzey

We went to the Cheshire Fair Grounds for the Smash for Cash Demolition Derby. What a great time! The staff was helpful except for the 50/50 lady who was too busy texting. The place was clean. The event was good considering the wet conditions. It was a nice day to have some family safe fun and maybe even get a little mud in your eye.

The people watching was awesome, the demo derby brought all types of people together. Thank you guy with straw hat! Lots of fun for everyone, young and old, male and female, couples and singles, all were welcome.

The Derby drivers put on a show, couldn't imagine that those cars could get beat so much and still move. But with all their destruction and mayhem there was the Swanzey Fire Department to make sure all were safe, THANK YOU! The tow truck guys cleaned up the wrecks, machine operators smoothed the track and fixed the retaining barriers. Lots of staff picked up the small pieces and bumpers between events....

The staff are friendly and helpful. The parking lot is huge so it fits a ton of people. The porta-potties are easy to get to and clean. The skyline is beautiful; you can see the sun set and the moon rise. They have food & beverage options which is nice. The pods they've been doing due to Covid are well-placed and fit 5 people (the max they allow per pod) nicely. My only complaint is security needs to keep people in their own pods. There were too many strangers literally invading the pod I paid for. I don't blame security entirely though; it's not their fault some people are disrespectful. Overall this place...

Northlands rocked these Fairgrounds again in a very organized and well-laid out fashion- adding a third day of double staged music in their fourth year! The lineup of jam talent has been the best every June (I live a little over an hour away and enjoy commuting- showing up just like the musicians!). Lots of ways to attend with various levels of day passes and camping. Great food and vending, plus set ups with various good service organizations like Groove Safe and the Divided Sky Foundation. Thanks to Northlands, the Cheshire Fair continues to serve and rock...
